Astreines Blondes - freut mich immer einen guten Vertreter des Stils zu finden in einem Meer von wässriger Gülle. Danke dafür. Süffig, getreidig, ja sogar crispy, all three thumbs up!

Can from Beer Republic. Canned 10/06/2020. Poured almost clear golden in color. Malty brew with rye notes, resin, caramel. American Strong ale like. Good stuff. Nice strong bitterness.

Rote Saftschorle im Glas, riecht und schmeckt auch so. Sommer-Erfrischung, die ich schwer als Bier bezeichnen kann. Als Sour vielleicht macht, ist aber halt nicht sauer. Meh.

Solid, straightforward modern IPA. A touch of West Coast pine and caramel backed up by grapefruit, mandarin, passion fruit, and a smidge of peach. Finishes creamy and mild, with a modest pine-mineral bitterness and a hint of yeast. Nothing spectacular, but nothing wrong with it, either.

650ml bottle. Cloudy, copper-ish, dark amber colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, caramel malty aroma with a touch of almond, marzipan, BA notes of Bourbon, vanilla, dark caramel, whiffs of maple sirup. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, resinous hoppy, slightly alcoholic, minimally malty spicy, a cautious fruity touch of alcohol soaked apricot, BA hints of Bourbon, vanilla, dark caramel, whiffs of maple sirup, some oak; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Minimally pungent mouthfeel from hop bitterness, alcohol and malt spiciness. Oily to viscous texture, super-soft, smooth, silky palate, very fine, soft carbonation. Good balance, excellent mouthfeel - nice sipper.

Can at home, from Beerdome, 12/11/20. Looks like canned in May so 6 months not ideal age wise ... the oldest of the hoppy beers I picked up but at least a big old skool DIPA which should hopefully take the ageing a little better than others! Very light haze on a golden amber pour topped with a big old egg shell white head that stays for the show. Nose is orange peel, caramel malts, grass, honey, toasted grains, light pine needle. Taste comprises sweet malts, pine needle, light bubblegum, caramel, grapefruit, lick of alcohol, a little chewy. Medium bodied with a little bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with balanced hop bitterness and a rising boost. Decent enough Old Skool leaning DIPA ... a reminder of mid to late noughties US staples!
