Suntory Master’s Dream #37 5%

Clear deep amber gold with thick white foam and a rich malty aroma and quite a full body. The taste has a nice slight crisp bitter herbal bite.

Solid lager that’s crisp and not overly sweet. On the fuller and maltier side.

Can from Lawson. Deep orange to amber with a low, thick head. Rich malt nose, biscuity, bready, with Saaz-like hopping. Herbal, spicy, citrus, floral. Rich malt flavor, quite bready but not sweet. Bitter, herbal finish. Dryer and less sweet than the previous beers in this series.

Can from 7-11. I think it's exclusive to them, thus "Sevens." Pale gold. Fruity nose, stone fruit, citrus, honey malts. Sweet and fruity flavor, honey, biscuits, stone fruit, orange. No spice added, but it comes across slightly like a Belgian abbey singel, lots of fruity esters. Not bad but industrial tasting as expected.

Normal premium malts are good beers, this is too malty sweet

Can from Lawson. Rich biscuity malt nose, very Czech. Seems like Saaz hops as well. Nice nose. Bright, deep gold, almost clear, slight haze but not much for being unfiltered. Ver much Czech Svlety flavor. Bready, biscuit malts with a touch of honey, spicy, herbal, floral hops. Stark bitterness. This must be the best in the series to date. This is good.

Light amber color. Spicy hops and bready notes. The palate is a bit thin but medium bitterness and relatively good depth. One of the best Crafty beers I’ve ever had. Worth it for 300 yen

Can from the supermarket. Close to ¥300, but this series usually is quite good. Bright, deep golden color with a tall, thick, foamy head. This looks nice. Rich bready malt in the Czech style, grainy biscuits. Herbal hops. Sweet, rich malt flavor, again very Czech in style, probably Saaz hops mostly, very herbal, light spice and citrus. Finish is bitter without being too bitter. Body is rich and full. Wow. One of the best Suntory has ever made, I would say. They really nailed this.

Can. a yearly thing for the new year. I haven't seen or had the ale version before. Golden color. Nose is honey malt, biscuits, bread, light citrus and herbs. Sweet and malty flavor, honey, biscuits, light hops. Very low bitterness. Kind of heavy and boring. the ales in this line are generally uninspiring, and this is no exception.
