Can from a friend. Deep golden color with white head. Aroma of caramel malt, green apples, malt, very light hops. Taste starts griany malty, followed by caramel, touch of american hops. Taste starts biscuity malty followed by caramel syrup, light citrus hops. It’s definitely not an APA (American Pale Ale), but the ale is easy to drink.

Suntory The Premium Malts Yoru Kaoru Kuro Ale 6%
This was a Family Mart find drunk straight from the can. It’s a light brown with a slightly beige foam. The tasty was roasty cocoa, I felt it was solidly in the classic Kuro/Japanese Schwartz bier category. Not quite as roasty as you’d get in Germany but very much in line with the craft black beers I saw all the time a decade or more ago…

Can. They just call it a black ale. Not roasty and not bitter at all, but lots of aroma hops. Nose is caramel, chocolate, and citrus. Flavor is sweet, a bit too sweet, with lots of citrus hops and a bit of tropical fruit. Caramel and some chocolate. No bitterness in the finish. No roasted character. Interesting, and better than expected.
