Deep orange color. Low carbonation, malty bready character with little hop presence. Decent mainstream take on the style.

dark smokey cherries, oranges and fairly complex. Malty body, smoke lingers a bit. Full body. A mainstream malty Old Ale.

Can. Deep amber. Caramel, earthy amber malt nose. Rich amber malt flavor, quite a bit of caramel, a hint of chocolate. Nice and rich, with good malt character. Close to a Vienna. Decent major lager.

Can from Matsukawa saketen. It pours a clear amber gold with a light beige head. The aroma is sweet grainy caramel. The taste isn’t that bad, a pretty mild caramel with a tangy fruity finish. Eh, ok enough.

Can. Pale amber color, clear, tall foamy head. Nose of caramel, corn, grains, and later, spirits. Sweet caramel flavor, light, grainy corn or rice cereal. Thin. Weird but not completely gross.

500 ml can, got it from my mother-in-law as she probably liked the fireworks images that it has on the can (probably a special design for hanabi season). Pours clear, extremely pale, only a hint of yellow in a free flowing liquid. Head is massive at first but reduces soon into low layer of white artificial-looking bubbles. Aroma has some sour piss and sour apples. Some malts. Taste has corn, you can feel the carbonation and some corn sweetness. Finish is mildly bitter and watery. For happoshu this is actually not so bad, almost feels like an average industrial beer, with no special character. Only almost though.

w zapachu słody i wyraźne nuty chmielowe - zioła, trawa, lekkie słodkie estry, trochę przypominające banana i gumę balonową. całość sprawia dość orzeźwiające i lekkie wrażenie. kolor złoty, przejrzysty, piana średnio obfita i krótkotrwała. w smaku pełne, wyraźnie słodowe, lekko biszkoptowe, dość słodkie. goryczka niewielka, ale jednak wyczuwalna, ziołowa w charakterze. pozostawia lekko drożdżowy posmak w ustach. mimo sporej słodowości dość pijalne i odświeżające.

Can from Trial Supercenter for about 110 yen? Typical macro-lager gold with a thick fizzy head that subsides fast leaving no trace behind. The aroma is cabbage and off-puting sweetness - weird. I get allusions to powdered sugar and sewer effluents too... bleh. Watery body, harsh carbonation. The taste is cardboard, club soda, bitter but more artificial hop extract than real hops. Pretty tasteless... think club soda that will get you drunk slowly... no idea what they were going for with this. It isn’t disgusting or anything, it looks fine, the aroma isn’t great but the taste is pretty flavorless cold from the fridge...

Can from Lawson, 230 yen or so. 5% Clear light gold big head of foam. Light malts with an interesting floral nose with light citrus. The flavor is pretty interesting light pils malts, crackery with some grassy, floral/herbal and citrus zest in the finish.Wasn’t expecting much but it was pretty good a nice surprise however the body is a touch too light and watery. Overall, refreshing. I liked this more than the Ebisu Royal Selection, this is more my cup of tea.
