Description

Pours caramel brown with tan head. Aromas of bread, fruits, citrus. Flavors of raisins, figs, caramel, cloves, candy sugar and slight alcohol. Medium body with lively carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. The best Corsendonk beer IMO.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep brown color ale with a nice huge foamy head with good retention and some nice lacing. Aroma of bubblegum and sweet malt is really enjoyable and somewhat reminiscent of great Belgian dark ale. Taste is a mix between some bubblegum notes with a nice fruity ester and some sweet Belgian-type malt. Body might be slightly thin for the style with some great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I was expecting something good but definitely this one exceeded my expectation.

Bottle, 75cl at the Belgian Embassy. It poured a slightly hazy, yellow body with a big white head. Fruity nose with apples and lemon, as well as a touch of spices. The flavor follows the same path, adding wheat and a touch of spices. It finishes with lasting fruity and bitter flavor, with some spices blending in. Medium body. Really refreshing and easy to drink. Not the best witbier, but inviting and quenching. (080410)

Bottle (I don’t remember the size of the bottle, but maybe 500-750 ml) Cloady orange body with a dense white head. Aroma is fruity, banana, citrus, spices and a bit acidulous. Flavor is refreshing, a bit sourish, citrus, grapefruit, grain, spices and yeast. Nice ingredients here, but a bit weak and light body.
