Description
De naam “Corsendonk” verwijst naar de priorij van Corsendonk, een voormalig augustijner klooster te Oud-Turnhout. De priorij bestond van 1398 tot 1784. Vanaf 1906 werd de brouwerijtraditie van Priorij Corsendonk door Henricus Keersmaekers (de grondlegger van de dynastie) met zijn eigen brouwerij te Oud-Turnhout voortgezet. In 1952 werd gestopt met het zelf brouwen van bier en werd de firma een distributiebedrijf. In 1982 werd op vraag en met de steun van de Oud-Turnhoutse VVV gestart met de productie van Corsendonk-bier.

Het bier wordt van begin af aan gebrouwen door Brouwerij du Bocq. Later is de familie Keersmaeker 100% eigenaar geworden van du Bocq. Dat was een geleidelijk proces waarbij gedurende een periode van 10 jaar elk jaar 10% van de brouwerij werd gelocht. Het was pas in 2014 dat bekend werd gemaakt dat de familie Keersmaeker 100% eigenaar waren van de brouwerij.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours a cloudy straw colour with big white top. Aroma of wheat, coriander - has a nice freshness to it. Taste wise it also has a lightness to it helped by a soft frothy carbonation. Notes of wheat, orange peel, coriander, light spice, minerals. Very good. Bottle 0,33 ltr thats expired in 2003: Blond-orange coloured brew have a citric aftertaste and had even has some banana flavor in it.

Tap at 't Verschil, Hoogstraten, Belgium: Hazy yellow colored brew with an slightly bitter taste. Fine hints of coriander and Curaçao, good thirstquencher.
