Cloudy dark yellow with a foamy head. Sourdough, unripe banana, grain, hay, multivitamin juice, carrot juice, lemon zest. Fruity sweetness, zesty bitterness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry zesty fruity bittersweet finish. Quite a nice Weißbier and a rare find.

Bottle 50 cl. Clear golden with a lacing white head. Some floral hop accents. Medium body, a fairly dry maltiness with an odd soapy edge. Quite a bitter finish. 121225

Slightly unclear golden with a foamy head. Sourdough, metal, some stone fruit, grain. Dry metallic bitterness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry metallic grainy bitter finish. Average Pilsner, feels and looks like an unfiltered Pilsner however.

Klare goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, leicht hopfiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, getreidig, leicht hopfig. Mittlere Süße mit mittlerer Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Hornecker Hell, Flasche von Getränke Appel, Au i.d. Hallertau. - Dunkelgoldgelb, klar. - In der Nase recht eigenartige, streng krautige Herbe, ein Anflug von Urin. - Antrunk schlank hellmalzig mit undefinierbarer krautiger Hopfenherbe und blasser Zitronenschale, gemildert durch runde Malzsüße. Milder rezent, schlank. Im Abgang nicht zu knappe aber aromatisch zweitklassige Bittere. - Wie auch die anderen Hornecker Biere aromatisch etwas holprig aber immer noch trinkbar, in gewisser Weise sogar reizvoll. Nicht ohne Grund hat es der selige Michael Rudolf unter die hundert besten Biere der Welt aufgenommen. Wie eine kleine Brauerei für ganze 50 Cent überhaupt ein solides Bier herstellen kann, bleibt ein Geheimnis. (20.4.2022.)

Bottle picked up from Appel Getränkemarkt Moosburg and consumed at home Thursday 6th January 2022 listening to John Grant - The Boy From Missippi. We had some great pizzas for tea. Pours dark brown almost chestnut brown with a light beige head. Caramel, chocolate and maltiness are the key flavours and aromas here. It's fine but no great shakes, in fact a little bit thin.

Hornecker Spezial, Flasche von Grabsch, Berlin-Lichterfelde. - Dunkles Kastanienrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase zart säuerliches Vollkornbrot, dunkles Malz und blasse herbale Hopfung, ein wenig schmalspurig. - Antrunk schlank dunkelmalzig mit Bayrisch Blockmalz und allmählich sich steigernder Röstmalzigkeit mit schwarzer Brotkruste, zarter Asche und kaltem Kaffee von fein säuerlicher Süße. Milde aber ausreichende herbale Hopfung. Milder rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang nicht zu knappe Röstmalzbittere. - Ungewöhnliches Märzen: fängt etwas dünn an und steigert sich erst allmählich zu vollmundiger Röstmalzsüße und -bittere (Schieder/Forster). Eigenwillig und probierenswert! (4.1.2022.)
