Sample at Monk’s Kettle. Reddish-copper color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of yeast, fruit and rye. Medium body with flavors of fruity citrus, rye malt and mild earthy hops. The finish is mildly spicy rye and yeast. Decent overall.

Sample at Monk’s Kettle. Clear orange-gold color with a medium white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of dank citrus, floral hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Tap at Final Gravity in Rosevlle, CA. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma seems spicy, and perhaps also earthy. Med body. Flavor is earthy/malty/spicy. Pretty much of a Saison. Tho the flavor might also fit Bier de Garde. There’s an interesting interaction of earth and spice. Flavor is fairly strong. Good flavorful Saison.
