Draft, small pour in 5 Vines wine bar, San Juan Capistrano on 30th August 2025. Almost black bodied, beige topping. Nice, easy going Stout, no Oysters were harmed in brewing this, not to produce my glass anyway. I did however really enjoy it.

Small glass (draft) in the 5 Vines wine bar in San Juan Capistrano on 30th August 2025. Almost clear golden body, soft white head. Mosaic hop nose and taste, didn't pick up any Sabro at all. So loads of citrus fruit aromas and flavours, earthy and piney notes too, no coconut though!

355ml can. Slightly cloudy, yellow-ish, golden colour with average to huge, fluffy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy, pale malty and slightly citrusy fruity and piney, hoppy aroma, hints of grapefruit, orange, pineapple, whiffs of liquorice and rubber. Taste is crisp, bitter, slightly piney and citrusy fruity hoppy, slightly spicy, pale malty basis, hints of lemon, grapefruit, orange, some pineapple, some zesty bitterness, a touch of saltiy cracker.
Oily-watery texture, dry, simultaneously minimally greasy palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation.
Pretty much West Coast IPA, crisp, bitter, slightly restrained fruit flavours - OK.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 34C: 20B with whole oysters). Can 47.3 cl - Batch 2996A (BB unreadable). AROMA: medium roasted malt with chocolate notes. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color and opaque. medium light brown head, with medium-low to low retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with medium roasted malt (dark chocolate, slight coffee). medium bitterness with a dry and salty finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: an american stout made with oysters which doesn't reflect much in the flavor apart from a salty sensation in the aftertaste. still, its easy to drink.

APPEARANCE: amber color body with orange highlights and clear. medium dark beige head, creamy, with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: initial medium-low yeast fermentation notes (clove, slight citrus), that evolves into a medium malty profile (spicy/rye, caramel, slight breadcrust, toasty). medium bitterness with a semi-dry and slightly bitter finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a nice saison with alternative rye malt. would benefit from more yeast fermentation character.
