Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is sweet malt with spicy and floral notes, ripe banana, sugar, sugary fruits. Flavour is fairly sweet with a moderate to medium bitterness. Body is medium. Hmmm interesting and pleasant, bittersweet, not nearly as good as the original.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is piney hop with sugary orange, pine resin, malt, marmalade, some grapefruit. Flavour is bitter with a moderate sweetness. Medium body. One of the better Magma versions in years, I'm glad this series continues.

Quite good, stable white head, lacey, over clear, well-carbonated metallic golden beer. Sweeter malts, unripe grapes, rosewater, perfumey, faintly spiced aromas. Bit soapy flavour, sweet & toasted malts; finish has a wholemeal bread streak. Medium bodied, quite slick, bit oily feel and creamy from the head. Good carbonation. I'm not over the moon with this one, it's insignificant. And who the heck might be Tom Pintens?

(Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 17 Oct 2024) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with orange peel, apricots and pink grapefruit. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of orange peel, apricots, resin, pine needles, caramel and a generous citric/piney bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Rich and hoppy. Nice one.

3/I/25 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home with Bouvier, BB: 3/XI/24, batch: 6504211103 (2025-12)
Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, falls down quickly, a bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: caramel, gentle roast, dried fruits, a bit sugary, muscovado sugar, pretty rich and pleasant smell! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, gentle roast, very dry, earthy, whisky notes, soft acidity, hoppy. Aftertaste: bitter, dry, caramel, a bit sour, lots of alcohol, dry touch, earthy, more roast, bitter finish.
PS: Looks like that tradition never really took off. Never saw a new edition...
