Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een goudgeel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige geur. De smaak is moutig, zacht en licht kruidig.

Bottle. Color: Hazy pale golden, white head. Aroma: Yeasty, lemon, coriander. Taste: Yeasty, malty, wheat malt, notes of orange, lemon and coriander. Smooth mouthfeel. Nice.

Weissbier by this semi-brewery on the Wadden islands in Holland, now in the clutches of Heineken. Medium thick, snow white, somewhat lacing, stable head – but not nearly as frothy as it ought to be for the intended style; misty peach blonde robe with pale orangey-rosy glow. Aroma of small ripe Lantundan bananas, wet old biscuit, potato juice, dough, ‘beschuit’, some iron, hints of clove and dried orange peel. Fruity onset, sweetish core with a slight sourish edge, peach, some red apple and light banana, fizzily carbonated (a bit stingy even); supple but somewhat thin body, soft breadiness with a metallic accent around the edges and only faint wheat slickness and -sourishness. Citrus peel-like freshness in the end but only briefly and subtly, soft floral hop touch but not much bitterness (as befits the intended style), light notes of clove here and there. Fits the overall style paradigm but only in a thin, superficial and unconvincing way; this brewery never really overwhelmed me even before the takeover by Heineken so I am guessing this wasn’t any more impressive when the brewery was still operating independently. Typical Dutch semi-industrial Weissbier, I would argue, even if the blonde Hefeweizen side is in that case more common than its dark Dunkelweizen counterpart…

330 ml bottle. Poursan orange copper color with lightish foamy head. Aromas of wheaty toffee. Flavors of same though more on full bready malts

Bottle at home, hazy golden beer, small head. Aroma is hops, citrus, floral. Taste is the same, light citrus, grapefruit. bitter, light dry aftertaste, ok.

Geprobeerd op het terras in Bergen op Zoom. Het is een troebel oranje geel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een hoppige wat citrusachtige geur. De smaak is hoppig, fruitig en bitter.

Fles 30cl bij Loetje in Gorssel als Texels Blond. Licht kruidig, wheaty, Belgisch gist, koriander, fruitje, licht citrus, licht droog, redelijk zacht. (4-7-2021).

Very pale and cloudy with tight, thin head. It's very wheaty and has slight notes of banana and clove. Much more in the direction of Hefeweizen than Belgian Wit

The ‘basic’ IPA in the range of this brewing company on the island of Texel, bottle from an Albert Heijn supermarket. Snow white, mousy, thick, membrane-lacing, stable head on an initially crystal clear warm and pure golden blonde beer, shifting to a misty peach blonde with sediment. Aroma of dry grapefruit zest, dried wormwood, old lemon peel, bread crust, white pepper, strawbales, a whiff of iron somewhere. Crisp, dryish onset, hints of green banana and old dried lemon peel but little fruitiness otherwise, lively carbonated with pronounced minerally effects; slight metallic edge too. Smooth, slick grainy and thinly white-bready malts with ‘bread-crusty’ edge, quite long-lasting, wormwoody hop bitterness in the end, a tad soapy too, offering floral and peppery aromas retronasally with a citric edge – but hardly the strong expressive aromas one expects from a modern IPA. Clean, old school, almost vaguely West Coast IPA-ish, no frills here but certainly enjoyable as a mildly spicy, accessible, bittering and quenching ‘everyday’ beer – I have nothing against that.
