Collapsing, short-lived beige head, slightly irregular; very dark brown-red beer, hazy. Very fruity nose; plums, fresh dates, touch of liquorice. Quite bitter taste, quite harsh-woody. Again liqourice flavour, without virtually any sweetness. Faint fruity flavour/palate, all under the overwhelming liquorice/harsh woody imprint. Finishes vinous, especially warming up - bit like wormwood bittered wine. MF is harsh, adstringent, medium to well bodied. Beatiful aroma, but the bitterness is really harsh. Pity, as the vinousness at the end hints towards better things.

I shared this with Jacob Lövenlund - so my bottle also said Texels Fuurtoren Amber. It is a hazy amber beer with a white head. The aroma is of grass and hops. The flavor is malty with notes of gras and hops on a sweet background. The end is very dry hoppy with a light bitterness.

(This beer is probably the same as "Skuumkoppe" from the same brewery - bierkoning agrees. In the mean time, I 'park' it here until further intervention). Clear amber-orange (end of bottle fully hazy); yellowish head, fast gone. Rich velvety malts and fruity esters in the nose. Bready, yeasty taste. Not anywhere as rich as the nose. Faint spicey bitterness. Clear palate, but no carbonation to speak of. Sticky throatfeel. Neither a German Dunkelweizen, neither a dark Belgian white. It tastes more like an indifferent Alt.

(I drank this beer under the name of Hanze Goudblond - same brewery, same ABV, same style - only the brewery calls this "Kölsch") Slightly hazy orange-yellow; thick luxurious broken white head. Chalk, grassy nose, with crystal malt and faint orange. Kölsch?? this tastes like a bitter/best bitter if anything, English hops and crystal malt included. Quite malty, actually. Touch of acidity, probably due to carbonation. Good Champenoise carbonation. Appropriately light bodied. A good light ale. Whether Kölsh, bitter or Belgian ale, who cares? Rating for Alias Texel Embassy Ale: Explosive gushing to orange-gold beer with slim (!) off-white head. Parsley or fresh chervil aroma, and good hops. Bit of cookie, pie (crust) -like taste. Nice. Some herbal flavour as well, and quite yeasty. Finish is brown sugar & coriander. Medium bodied, slick, silghtly burning aftertaste. Excellent for an only 5% ABV beer. Flavourfull, good bodied. Not a session beer, however.

Cloudy dark amber color. Light roasted malt and caramel aroma. Characterized by the caramel and nuts, but not too much; spicy; correctly bitter. When warmer, a very nice hop note. Thanks Jens (Ungstrup) for this bottle.
