Description

Bottle, 0.33l. Cloudy orange golden color with medium creamy white head, nice lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of yeast, cheese, citrus and flowers. Taste starts with light sweet and sour yeasty and grainy, follows mild fruity and alcoholic with mild spicy mouthfeel and light herbal hoppy finish. Medium body, dryish texture and lively natural carbonation in palate. Solid tripel, although many better brews exist...

Cloudy brown. Pale beige head. Unfresh and uninviting aroma of banana, cellar, green apples and harsh margarin. Taste of artificial caramel anf bonbons. Bitterness and harsh caramel in aftertaste. Initial aroma and taste improves as the beer aired in the glass.

Draught @ Haver van de Texel. Aroma is stuffy with some toffee and harsh malt. Also some toffee and hints of cardboard. Flavour has toffee candy, some sweet malty tones and ripe fruits. Also some slight spicy tones. At the middle of the glass the bready malt and toffee typical to Belgian Ales struggle. Perhaps the last one is winning. Too sweet this is anyway.

Tap tasted on 02/07/2014. Hazy copper/amber colour with a splendid white foamy head. Aroma is very sweet with sugar and caramel. Taste is very sweet too, maybe too much, with a lot of caramels, sugar and candys. Carbonation is low to medium and body is OK. Aftertaste has nothing special. Next one please!

Nice weizenbock, the Texelse is good at German wheat beers. Even nice to drink in the summer.

Very tasty Belgian witbier, has the fresh traits of a German weizen, but still with some herbs. Nice.
