Clear to hazy dark ruby brown colour, generous foamy tan head, diminishes to a thin layer, not so much lacing. Sweet malty and fruity nose, bit vinous, caramel, banana, brown sugar, roasted, spices (cloves, cinnamon). Roasted sweet malty taste, caramel, coffee, butter scotch, dark fruits. Creamy texture, full body; medium sweet finish with hints of spices, fruits and some bitterness, well balanced. Not so much a bock but a barley wine, not bad at all.

Bottle from a shopping centre on the Den Haag waterfront, drunk while watching the film Captain Phillips on the Rotterdam-Hull ferry. Absolutely terrible film by the way. This beer wasn’t so bad. Big sticky sweet malts, with some caramel and a little liquorice.

Bottled. Hazy yellowish orange colour, mediumsized beige creamy head that leaves good lace. Aroma is grains, some toffee, mild earth and some slight grassy ntoes. Flavour is sweet malts, toffee, mild spices, metallic notes as well as some grassy and grainy notes. As it warms up it gets quite bold toffeeish and loses some of the metallic notes.

On tap at Arendsnest. Pours a near clear deep amber with a light brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a nice combination of raisins and bread notes with a touch of dark grains. Flavor is similar and really has a raisin bread note that is backed by dark grains.
