Tasty little stout, although it seems more porter-ish, if such delineations even matter any more. Baker's chocolate, dark cherry, currant, and java are prominent, while a roasty undertone adds a hint of char and a welcome bitterness keeps the pint dry. Citric yeastiness comes off a bit strong, but the creamy feel and (relatively) laid-back ABV make for easy drinking.

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can from shrubber85, poured into a glass. Hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is clove, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is clove, some banana, and some cardboard.

Wondering if I've got a bad can, because this sucker's almost undrinkable. The opening notes of grain, pale malt, and corn are nice and gentle, but the back end picks up a strong lemon-soaked tang, much too prominent for such a subtle profile on the front end. Yeasty and citric on the finish with a modest corn sweetness in the fade. Rough stuff.

Pretty wide of the mark for an ESB, with an aggressive orange-citrus tang throwing the otherwise decent elements out of whack. Caramel and biscuits provide a solid malt base, and the mild hops add the slightest bit of floral bitterness, but holy hell does the weird citric slant crash the party. Not what I'd call "English yeast character" either, but an unwanted lemon-orange bite that royally fucks things up. Not good.

Sample at Upstate Craft Beer. Hazy straw color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lace. Aroma of wheat, banana and malt. Light-bodied with a wheaty character and flavors of banana, bready malt and a bit of spice. The finish is wheaty with a short fruity aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.
