Pours an oily black with a khaki head from a bottle. Aroma of chocolate and coffee, flavor similar, initially very sweet with some coffee-like bitterness on the finish. Thick and oily in the mouth. Good beer.

Canned at SBWF. Clear deep golden, coarse head. Rich passion fruit aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Lots of passion fruit, elderflowers and grapefruit. Zesty and hoppy with mid bitter finish. Quite nice hop profile, neutral malt base.

Sample at SBWF 2016. Hazy golden/orange with a white head. Fresh and hoppy with citrus, grapefruit, light cookies and some hints of hay. The body was medium and the finish fairly bitter.

Pours a coppery amber from a bottle. Pumpkin spice aroma and flavor, bit of Karo in the finish. Okay beer, not very pumpkiny.

High clarity to the peachy-golden, lightly copper-tinged body with a medium-sized, off-white head atop showing moderate retention. Sediment left behind in the bottle.
Pretty standard West Coast rendition featuring a guest appearance by some juiciness (rather brief). Cherries, ruby red grapefruit, spicy orange and light pineapple with a bit of excess pine on the very end, though it’s not obnoxiously excessive. Malts show biscuit, light honey-caramel and are seemingly well-attenuated. Maybe just a touch of alcohol graces the finish, as well. The beer is clean.
Expected citrus and light tropical fruit notes in the flavor, as orange, cherry and ruby red grapefruit dominate, though allow minor pineapple/peach notes, as well. There’s definitely a good deal of bitterness, too much for my weak palate but some substantial maltiness does help mitigate this somewhat. Carbonation is low but fairly engaging, sweetness is low to moderate and a good deal of grapefruit and pine bitterness lingers with light alcohol. Nothing interesting/exciting/particularly well-done here, but if you want a standard West Coast DIPA, this is competent.
