Description
Athenian Brewery SA is one of the leading companies producing and marketing beer in Greece. Founded in 1963 by a group of Greek entrepreneurs and a member of the Group Heineken NV Works based in Athens. The first factory was Athenian Brewery in Athens in 1965 and produced beer Amstel. In 1975 was inaugurated the second factory in Thessaloniki and in 1985 purchased the third , in the industrial area Patras .

Can. Dark pink/red with a decent white head. Aroma of grapefruits with a hint of roses. Taste of grapefruits, grains and artificial sweetener. Juicy, slightly tangy and sweet. No bitterness.Medium carbonation. I for one welcome the trend of adding grapefruits and/or blood oranges to all kinds of beverages but Amstel’s Lemon Radler is way better.

330ml bottle into glass. From bottlo in Brighton Le Sands. Pours a golden amber with a dissipating foamy white head. Medium carbonation. Nose is sweet malt, touch of pepper and bread. Slightly zingy, cardboard finish. Typical euro-lager, not too horrible.

0.33 l bottle at 'ananea rocrita', best before February 2027. Clear, golden with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, malty and slightly floral aroma of grains, some honey and hints of wort. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, a bit floral taste of grains, wort and some honey, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Almost medium-bodied, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Decent.

Can. Pours clear golden with a large creamy off-white head, faint grassy aroma, high carbonation, medium bitter malty taste, faint hops flavor, thin smooth body medium finish. Not too bad.
