Le Clos Noirval, Manneville-la-Pipard, 14130, France
Description
Friends for more than 20 years, Pierre-Emmanuel and Xavier grew up together in Normandy. They had the ambition to modernize the first alcoholic beverage consumed by any young self-respected Normand : the cidre.
Determined by the desire to create a quality, hand-crafted, French product and by the aspiration to come back to the source / back to basics, they aimed at increasing the value of a decisively modern product, forgotten despite its numerous energetic and gustatory qualities.
(“Gluten-free, 100 % natural, the least calorific alcoholic drink”- it has less than 50 calories for a glass of 15cl).
Helped by a cellar master with a well-known expertise, Pierre-emmanuel and Xavier have been developing their project for more than one year. Their work resulted in the launch of Sassy, the first contemporary cider brand “Made in Normandy”.

330ml bottle from a deli in Tours. Pours clear gold, medium-sweet aroma. Taste is clean, medium-sweet, accessible, with French apple fruit. Decent mainstream French cider.

This might be the same as Sassy L’Inimitable, but it is only labelled Sassy Cidre. From tap at La ruée vers l’orge, Paris, with BB 13.07.17. Clear golden. Some white head. Aroma and taste of Syringa Vulgaris, fresh apples, leather and sulphur. Complex. Very good. Long aftertaste.

Pours peachy pink. No mentionable head thnx to its inconsistency. Smell is fruity , less funk than their regular one. Taste is sharp, has a dry start, than some sugars. Mild fruityness. Toned down apple funk and skins. Instead more sharp sugars and a higher carbo. Prefered the regular.

Pours peachy amberblonde. Small white head. Smell is rich, natural apple. Balanced between sweet and funky. Taste is sweet, apples, but with a prominent funk and a dry touch in the back. Appleskins, green apples ( light sour touch underneath the sweetness ) ends dry, and mostly funky / skins. Nice --- Beer aliased from original tick of Cidre Organic on 04 Jun 2023 at 19:45 - Score: Appearance - 7 | Aroma - 7.5 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Pours clear blonde. Scent is sweet, apple, candy, reminds me of ice cider, but less dense and intense. Taste is full, intense, apple and skins. Quite balanced, semi-sweet cider.

330mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out crisp dry apples, with a touch of apple skin and core. Flavour is much sweeter, with medium sweet apple skins upfront, which then transition to a bit of a farmhouse character and a bone dry, lightly crisp finish. Very nicely constructed.

330mL bottle, pours a clear pale blonde with a tiny white head. Aroma brings out bees wax and honey, with light pears. Flavour is along the same lines, with medium sweet pears, bees wax and crisp, medium sweet pears. For a 2.5% perry, this has a lot of dynamics. Very nice.
