Description
The Brasserie du Pays Flamand was founded in November 2006. At the start, a common passion of 2 childhood friends: Olivier Duthoit and Mathieu Lesenne, turned into a real large-scale project. The brewery first settled in Blaringhem, on the border of French Flanders and Artois. This is where Bracine, Anosteké and Wilde Leeuw were born. Today, a second, much larger production site has been set up in Merville, in order to meet growing demand. Each brew is a claim to their origins, to the northern terroir, and each beer, an invitation to conviviality. The different ranges offered testify to respected traditional know-how, a search for original taste, and a desire to discover new flavors. The Brasserie du Pays Flamand regularly collaborates with brewers from all over the world, bringing together cultures and ideas to offer you exceptional beers.

33cl bottle from a Pidou Warehouse near Calais (I think). Poured into my old Westmalle Trappist chalice at home on 13th February 2025. Almost clear golden body (poured the whole bottle into my chalice), wispy white affair on top. Spicy nose and initial taste, slight tartness and farmyard traces, it's OK and not too 'farmers wife homebrew style' like some Saison's.

Small can on Air France. Pale golden pour, minimal foamy head. Aroma features light hoppiness. Taste also brings just a hint of hops, more of a hoppy blonde. I enjoyed it though.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy light beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: good roast up front, malty touch, some alcohol noticeable. MF: ok carbon, full body. Taste: nice, good roast, malty, alcohol, chocolate, coffee, bitter, nice. Aftertaste: more nice roast, some chocolate and coffee notes, grains, pleasant one!
