16 oz can from Joe Canal's, 9/18/19. Fully hazed rusty orange color with a thick, frothy, off-white head. Heavy, heavy lacing. Grapefruit, pineapple, lemon zest, and booze. Bit of lime. Good bit of earth. Stronger malt presence than I expected, and drinks like a 10% + beer. Really showcases the ABV (which is not something I usually point out, but when a beer feels this much higher in ABV than it actually is, it is a surprise). Odd overall. Somehow it gets a hint tart (lime zest I guess). Weird booze thing, weird overall. Not sure how I feel about this beer. Take the core of Boat, add booze and some new hops, subtract the artistry it takes to make that beer, and I guess you end up here? Just didn't quite hit the spot for me...sorry Augie and crew...don't blame this on ABI, I'm just a random guy on the internet who loves beer and who's been rating on this site since long before their purchase. You can tell I'm giving my own opinion, because my reviews are not well enough written or professional enough to be paid for.
