Thanks to beastiefan2k for sharing - indie? is that supposed to be referencing something? The only indies I know are indie rock and indiana jones, both of which are cool as shit - but this beer is made in nantucket - hardly the cool capital of the world - isn’t that where the show wings took place - lame! - perhaps they are trying to capitalize on the coolness factor of the name - but - c’mon - it’s nantucket - anyway - there once was an IPA from nantucket - no - I won’t go there - this beer is alright - cloudy orange with a fizzy, short-lived head - earthy, almost musty, "I’ll taste infected in a month or so" aroma to it - almost west coast hoppiness in the nose - a bit too sweet for my taste, with a decent dose of apples and pears - strong hop presence tries to balance it out, but that fruity sweetness is never quite tempered - it’s a fairly good attempt, though - if the sweetness were brought down and the hops were allowed to shine, it would be a world class IPA.

Small brown head. Opaque black body, even looking into the sun. Burnt milky caramel and chocolate aroma with hoppy notes. Thinnish wooden chocolate taste with burnt sooty citric and pine needle notes. Sharpish edgy mouthfeel. Dry sooty taste lingers. Good, but not outstanding. (0.75l bottle at glouglouburp’s.)

Thanks to John jjpm74 for this brew, and I’m glad to have had the chance to try it. This is no way a premium lager, this stuff is tremendously higher quality than any premium lager or american pale yellos lager. It is unfiltered, provides a light brownish orange appearance that is nothing like a ubiquitous pale yellow lager. There is even some gunk on the bottom of the bottle like quality wheats! Lovely swirling pour. Looks more like a strong ale, with its creamy thin head. Taste has quite a bit of hop bitter impact, it behaves more like an ale on the palate. Even comes across a little viscous, no way is this a light beer. This is the chewiest ’light’ beer I have ever tasted. Good medium low carbonation. This beer is more like a hop flavored wheat beer than a lager. Wow, quite a taste experience. This has got to be the light beer that resembles craft beer, like no other. I’m not much one on hops or bitter malts but this certainly is not light flavored. Medium lasting light to medium bitterness on the finish.

Bottled, thanks jjpm74! Cloudy amber, no head. Oaky peat aroma. Sweet with soft and rounded mouthfeel. Rather fruity and near full bodied. Warming and gentle. More focus on malt, wood and vanilla than on hops. Complex and tasty.

An hazy dark amber ale with a thin white head. Rather sweet biscuitty caramel aroma, with light British hopping, lightly floral, restrained. In mouth, a good caramel malt with dry floral hops, nutty notes, not a lot of citrus in this. Bought at Party Source,Syracuse, Nov. 2006.

750ml, bought it maybe 2 months ago. Sat in a fridge for maybe a few days before tonight. Poured into Tripel Karmeliet glass, and boy what a head on this puppy. Pours with just a monster of a foam. Foam only lasts for a few mintues but leaves a surface covered with lacing. Color is dark amber, can’t see through it but medium clarity within the beer. Aroma is present with a strong sweetness and a present underlying spice aroma, not overwhelming but there. There is a weird sourness that may come from infection as some have mentioned but it works well with this beer. I would pay for this infection. Some toastiness and woodsiness in it. Taste is not as interesting, the sourness is gone. Watered down sweetness mainly with a nutty character. Body is thin and watery, mouthfeel is slightly spikey. Leaves a slightly sweet aftertaste.

Tap at Halftime. First pour out of the keg. Pours with a small head. Color is copper, completely murky with almost no clarity. Aroma is present, caramel sweetness with wheat-like fishiness and a bit of spice. Taste is nicely sweet, losses that fishy wheat and really doesnt give off any pumpkin. Weird, definitely sweet with a bit of a toasty character, not high on spice.
