Ever been angry at a beer? No? Then buy this one. Aroma was great, roasted malt, coffee, and oddly, a hint of cantaloup. Then I poured it, all head. I’m not sure if it was the bottle, the carbonation or the beer, but the head kept foaming out and over the bottle for 20 minutes after opening. It foamed on the counter, in the fridge, in the sink, everywhere. Pouring more of it made no difference, head kept foaming. I’d say by the end, I was lucky if I got 30% of the bottle. Flavor was strong, nutty, roasted, coffee and strong. Finish is heavy and oily. The overall score suffered because of the drinking experience. Look out.

Pours deep brown/black into an English pint. Extreme micro head fills glass. Time for a second pint...pour gently...stop at rim...foam continues to pile out of the glass for 5 minutes onto the countertop. Unhappy experience so far. Deep chocolate and espresso notes. Flat, sour/salty with a bitter hop finish. No good. My first drain pour.

Dark orange amber ale with a creamy white head. Smooth ginger and citrus, with light floral hops. In mouth, ginger root, coriander and hops, rather light bodied, with acidic points, a bit too thin and acidic. Sampled with Mtl crew, April 16 2006.

On tap in a shaker. Very little aroma. Bland appearance and flavor. Flat palate. Light bitter finish.

25 oz bottle-pours a brown head with dark brown color. Aroma is coffee, dark malt and slight estringent. Taste starts OK then turns sour like a lambic porter. Oops, a bad bottle got out. Will rerate this with another bottle hopefully.

[Winter Vintage] First of all, it is really friggin’ lame to repackage your summer beer as a winter beer - that said, this is an interesting lager - cloudy golden pour, with a bready, almost tart aroma - a tiny bit sour, which makes it interesting, complimenting the light, lemony character - nice hop bite at the end - not too bad.

Hazy dirty amber brown ale with a thin off-white head. Woody cask aroma, with light strawberries, sour lactic acids. In mouth, a flemish sour with strawberries that is missing the mark. Not bad but rather strange. Maybe Schoune made it.

Medium copper pour with respectable, lasting head - aroma of christmas cookie dough (bready malt, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger) - kind of light bodied for a winter warmer, but that isn’t exactly bad - gentle sweetness, and a subtle ginger, clove and cinnamon presence - a little spicy kick at the end - not bad.

Murky amber in color, with minimal carbonation - aroma quite like an english barleywine (plum, fig, port) with prominent bourbon, strawberry and oak mixed in - kind of tart throughout, with a very heavy woodiness that almost overpowers the rest of the beer - slightly acidic, with very apparent alcohol - tastes kind of like a watered down barleywine with dominant bourbon in the finish - as others have noted, I’m not sure blending in their pale ale was such a good idea - I generally find Cisco beers underrated, but not in this case.

25 oz bottle-pours a foamy, four finger+ reducing to rocky with patches clinging to the side of the glass white head. Color is hazy yellow. Aroma is floral, fruity. Taste is spices, hoppy, grapefruit, sweet creamy, vanilla. Good carbonation.
