Description
Tatton Brewery is a family-run brewery in Knutsford in the heart of Cheshire, just a stone’s throw from Tatton Park.

We brew both classic and contemporary style beers in a modern brewery, and our beers are available in cask, keg and bottle in pubs, bars, restaurants and other venues across the North West.

We have a custom built modern brewery, and have combined this with a traditional local yeast (revived after 50 years retirement), the finest ingredients and years of experience creating internationally renowned beers, to brew what we believe to be Cheshire’s finest beers.

Our brewery has been specifically designed to enable us to brew consistently good beer, we believe each and every pint we sell needs to be as good as the last one. We like to think this is what sets up apart from other small brewers, and hope that you will appreciate our efforts.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a pale straw with minimal white head and excellent lacing. Not much of an aroma – just vague citrus hints. In the mouth it starts off sweet and malty but some bitterness soon starts to show. Flavour of floral hops with traces of grains and citrus. Bitterness remains in the finish. This is OK, but it’s nothing special.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with minimal off-white head and good lacing. The aroma has oranges and caraway. In the mouth it is very briefly sweet and creamy before becoming rough and grainy with flavours of rye, caraway, marmalade and hints of berry fruits and corn. Finish is quite bitter. This is rather unusual – but decent enough.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours golden amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. There’s citrus, oranges and a hint of grapefruit in the aroma. Floral hops to the fore in the mouth, along with oranges and marmalade, olus hints of mango. Overall it starts out quite sweet but becomes gradually more bitter. Finish is quite juicy. This is decent – plenty of punch for it’s strength.

In nthe mouth, coriander is very much the strongest flavour, along with ibtter oranges, and hints of apricot, aniseed, banana and cloves. Overall it is bitter but with underlying sweetness. Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a hazy chestnut with a small cream head and good lacing. Malts to the fore in the aroma, plus some hints of chocolate sauce. In the mouth it is sweet with mainly malts and marmalade in the aroma plus a hint of chestnuts. Later on some traditional hops come through along with fudge and toffee. All leading to a bittersweet finish. It’s OK, but a bit nodescript.
