Driving through Nebraska this past summer, stopped in Lincoln and was able to pick this up.
The appearance is mostly clear somewhat hazy, but still steady streams of carbonation are seen rising and feeding a one finger white foamy head that dies within a minute, some nice decent slightly foamy lacing graces the sides of the glass.
The smell has wheat up front, slightly sweet maltiness, light corn
The taste is mainly sweet through the wheat and corn, slightly bready, definite bready aftertaste, dry finish.
On the palate, she sits about a light to medium, comes across fairly sessionable. Carbonation was on par for the style and good for me.
Overall, this may not get the best reviews here, but I came from the wasteland of this style, if anyone thinks this is bad, try finding this style done well from New England and then you’ll find this isn’t as bad you think, I’d have this again.

Bottle. A- Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, spices. A- Dark copper color, clear liquid, white head. T- Cinnamon, nutmeg, spices. P- Medium body, average texture, medium carbonation, abrupt finish. O- The bottle calls it an Abbey Ale but this is more like a Winter Warmer to me. Whatever, it’s still good. Packed with lots of cinnamon and spices. I was hoping for a longer finish but it disappeared quite fast. Lucky Bucket did alright here.

Bottle. A- Wheat, grains, lemon. A- Yellow color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Subtle lemon, wheat, light spice. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, crisp finish. O- Not a bad wheat ale. The citrus tones are nice and it’s a drinkable beer.

Draft - Fresh sweet grapefruit. Pale gold with a nice beige head. Sweet citrus, well balanced with malt and a light bitterness. Very well balanced mild IPA.

Bottle: Amber/chestnut pour with a small bubbly ring of eggshell head. Nose is malty, lightly toasted nuts. Semi-earthy. Taste is sweeter, that of lager malts. Light toast and faint florals. The initial impression is that of deep dark flavors from the roast and toast, but then it gets a little watery feeling. Letdown...

Bottle from Captain Jacks. Pours a stunning amber color, great clarity, and a finger of creamy tan head. Not much head retention or lacing, but overall an attractive pour. The nose is spicy; cinnamon and cloves. A little of the Belgian yeast comes through. Warming and inviting. Soft mouthfeel and subdued in the flavor at first. Probably a little too cold at first… a little rest at room temperature opens up the fruitiness and spices. Finishes well, but does linger on the sweet side. Reminds me of spruce and juniper berries. Not too much emphasis on the spice or yeast. Probably good for those who like a more mellow approach to the style. I find the body to be a bit thin, it gets a little sweet in the tail, and overall would consider this to be a pretty mediocre brew. The great debate would be what style this fits into…

"Oak Aged Cherry Lambic" at GABF. Pours with a hazed brown to red hued body with a large off-white to tan head. Aromas are strongly lactic with some acetic acids, light leaves, leather, cherry. Flavors are very sour with lots of fruit and a ton of wood tannins. Vinous and puckering. Cherry, melon and medium acetobacter with lively carbonation.

Tap @ Old Chicago’s Lincoln Haymarket. Pours a rust orange appearance with a thin off white head. Toasted malty, toffee, caramel, apple aroma. Somewhat buttery, caramel, butterscotch, herbal, sweet malty flavor. Fairly thick diacetyl. Second Nebraska lager in a row with butter. Fuck.
