Description
Lucky Bucket is one of Nebraska’s oldest craft breweries, we tapped our first beer in January 2008 with the debut of Pre-Prohibition Lager which, along with Certified Evil Imperial Stout have been stalwarts on taps and shelves across Nebraska.

From our first beer Lucky Bucket has always been interested in pushing the craft market by looking for the unexpected, from using old recipes and exploring forgotten styles, to trying new ingredients and experimenting with different styles.

Although there are some changes afoot we’ll promise you that you can find your old standbys as well as rotation of new options whenever you come by the taproom.

From the taproom, to the bar, to your back deck, at Lucky Bucket our goals have always been simple, to create high-quality beers that people can enjoy with friends and family no matter what life throws at you.

Bottle shared by Huskertan at the Omaha Ratebeer/ Untappd summer gathering. Flavor has everything that is advertised; vanilla, whiskey, chocolate, and a lasting coffee element throughout. Medium plus body with not booze showing. The best beer I have ever had from this brewery.

Bottle. A- Mango. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Mango, medium heat. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly spicy finish. O- Mango on the nose and a bit on the palate but the heat builds as you drink. This one screams heartburn after more than a couple sips for me.

Bottle shared by Huskertan. Flavor has some fruit and the pepper heat stacks up as you drink. It does show some balance. I liked it more than I thought I would.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy medium golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy raspberry, pomegranate, cranberry, strawberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, green tea, light pepper/pine, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruit, tea, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big big juicy/tart/tangy raspberry, pomegranate, cranberry, strawberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, green tea, light pepper, pine, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and light fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of raspberry, pomegranate, cranberry, strawberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, green tea, pepper, pine, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruit, tea, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with minimal astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness, tart/tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, sticky/resinous/rindy, fairly crisp, and lightly acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is a delicious fruited IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruit, tea, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink, despite the increasingly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Great balance of jammy fruits, tea, and juicy/dank/earthy hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example. Never had anything like this before.

Bottle. A- Raspberry, pomegrante. A- Copper color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Bitter, grassy. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- The fruit adds a nice aroma but I think it's the green tea leaves that are creating an off tasting bitterness on the palate. Left wanting more with this one. Aroma was decent but taste was subpar.

Crisp copper coloured body with a very thick, five to six centimetre tall off-white head that shows well, but leaves a very ugly lace on the side. Aroma of raspberries, tart fruits and perhaps lemons, some lighter hop elements of the citrus variety along with a dash of caster sugar and a tiny amount of malt - but this is more fruit-centric than anything else. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and citrusey hops show through up front with a light bitterness of cleanser and tart fruits with a little sweetness noticeable near the end and a touch of grain and light funk with a decidedly fruit-based finish with the raspberries showing the most. Aftertaste is deep and clean with some good flavours throughout, a moderate level of complexity the malt showing perhaps the least, but a nice profile and almost leaning closer to a fruit-beer than a plain IPA, but nice to sample, especially in summertime. I sampled this twelve ounce stubby bottle purchased from BeerTopia in Omaha, Nebraska on 27-June-2018 for US$1,67 sampled at home back in Washington on 23-July-2018.
