Description
Lucky Bucket is one of Nebraska’s oldest craft breweries, we tapped our first beer in January 2008 with the debut of Pre-Prohibition Lager which, along with Certified Evil Imperial Stout have been stalwarts on taps and shelves across Nebraska.

From our first beer Lucky Bucket has always been interested in pushing the craft market by looking for the unexpected, from using old recipes and exploring forgotten styles, to trying new ingredients and experimenting with different styles.

Although there are some changes afoot we’ll promise you that you can find your old standbys as well as rotation of new options whenever you come by the taproom.

From the taproom, to the bar, to your back deck, at Lucky Bucket our goals have always been simple, to create high-quality beers that people can enjoy with friends and family no matter what life throws at you.

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a massively over carbonated fizzy bright golden color with an enormous foamy white head that lingered forever and left great lacing. The aroma was strong sweet strawberry ice cream. The flavor was sweet strawberry jam, yeast and cracker. Light and fizzy body.

Draft/Fest. A- Caramel, fruity, mild booze. A- Brown color, cloudy liquid, off white head. T- Fruity caramel. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, boozy finish. O- Balanced so well that a fruity caramel flavor was about all I could detect but it was a delicious flavor. Finished off with a bit of booze. Not super complex but good.

Draft/Fest. A- Espresso, coffee, sweet mocha, slightly roasty, subtle caramel, mild french vanilla. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Black coffee, roasty, mild bitterness, dark chocolate, mild vanilla. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Hot damn. Little did I know my 2,500th rating would be so delightful and a local beer at that. This was absolutely spot on. I already liked their Certified Evil Imperial Porter so adding coffee and vanilla was a no brainer and of course aging it in their own whisky barrels. The aging doesn't make it boozy but simply adds depth. The balance of the coffee with a touch of sweetness and bitterness coupled with a smooth natural vanilla flavor. Absolutely beautiful beer and I really hope they bottle this up.

Deep coppered and light amber coloured body with a thinnish, two centmetre tall tan head that fades very quickly to just a top a few seconds later. Aroma of light spices, a touch of caramel and brown sugars along with a bit of alcohol, some bread, yeast and a bit of metal as well. Light-bodied; Strong caramelised sugar flavours at first with a bit of light spices, some subdued yeast flavours and a bit of bananas and bubble gum from the yeast strain. Aftertaste shows some astringent yeast flavours with some light spices and a good caramelised sugar flavour with some mellow maltiness and only a touch of complexity at the end. Overall, a decent beer with some lighter flavours and some mellow sugars, but not enough spice, complexity or depth to make this good. Nice to sample this locally and during the season! I sampled this twelve ounce stubby bottle purchased from BeerTopia in Omaha, Nebraska on 05-February-2018 for US$1,67 sampled in my hotel room here in Omaha, Nebraska on 06-February-2018 a day later.

Crisp, super clear deep bronzed coloured body with a copper glow and almost no head at all. Aroma of crisp lager yeast, light biscuits, some grain and a tiny bit of squash noticeable as well with the caramelised sugars showing at the finish. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong biscuity and grainy malt at first with a substantial amount of sugars from caramel showing right afterwards and a good balance from some light English/German hops and a low pungent kick from the grain. Aftertaste shows a surprisingly nice balance of the hops and malt with a good deal of caramelised sugars and an extra touch of grain at the end. Overall, a nice and more syrupy Oktoberfest/Marzen than most, but in a good way only. Worth trying if you like the style and can find this! I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from BeerTopia in Omaha, Nebraska on 01-October-2017 for US$1,67 sampled at home in Washington after finding out that I'll be heading back out to Omaha in a few weeks.

Bottle. Dense black pour with a tall, deep mocha head. Aroma of roast malt, cocoa, light coffee. The flavor is balanced between the roast malt bitterness and the sweetness. Flavor follows the aroma pretty well.

Sampled at the brewery. aroma is a light roast, caramel malt and light booze. The taste is sweet caramel malt, weak roast and alcohol is decently integrated. The palate is medium to heavy bodied with soft carbonation. Chewy texture. This is easily the best beer in there lineup.

Draft at the source. Aroma weak rye, fruit. Ok mouthfeel. Mild rye grain, again hints of something like fruit hops. Taste is a nice mix of rye, citrus, caramel, yeast notes. Not bad at all. Serviceable.

Draft sample at the source. Darker brown with tons of tan head, lots of lacing and light carbonation. Aroma of roasted malts, weak cocoa and caramel. When it comes to taste it actually feels real watery, caramel sweetness and malts. It’s an OK beer but great for the style.
