Description
Three Notch’d Brewing Company was conceived by three friends who value great beer and great times, with close family and friends. Each of us has a great appreciation for individualism, respect for hard work and earning our ability to give back to the communities we live in. We opened our doors for commercial operation in August of 2013 and work each day to Leave Our Mark on the craft brew industry and Charlottesville, VA by making great beer and collaborating with all lovers of the craft beer industry. Draft at the source. Bright clear golden color, fluffy white head. Aroma of freshly cut grass and scallions. Taste is nice bitter lemongrass. Very tasty.

Draft at the source. Extremely dep dark amber color, tan head with nic retention and lacing. Aroma of lightly toasted caramel. Taste is caramel with a slightly burnt edge.

Draft at the source. Cloudy pale yellow color, thick white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma is bright and lemony. Taste is fresh lemon on raw bread dough. Delicious.

Draft at the brewery, 8/26/14.. Pours a clear pale golden with a thin creamy white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of blueberry Smarties and pale malt. The taste is tart blueberries, pale malt, mild doughy malt and mild spicy hops. Thin-mediuim bodied.

Draft at the Harrisonburg location. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a thin creamy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of pale malt, corn, floral notes, citrus, honey. Taste is pale malt, corn, floral notes, mild grassy hops. Medium bodied, crisp, decent balance. I’m not 100% convinced this wasn’t the cream ale but they insisted this was the kolsch, so here we are.

Draft at the Harrisonburg location. Pours a clear copper with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee, burnt sugar, caramel, floral hops. The taste is caramel, toffee, floral, resin and citrus hops. Medium bodied.
