Bottle shared at Leightons place. Thanks to the Black IPA king. Clear caramel brown coloured pour with a halo of grayish head. Aroma is sweet caramel, malts, toffee, meaty, light pine hop. Flavour is composed of nutty, caramel Base grains, sticky pine hop, little hint of warming alcohol, sticky hop resin. Palate is medium full, sticky, highish carbonation. Firm pine bitterness, Semi dry finish. Semi sweet. Bit wishy washy.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Colin. Pours clear brown-amber with a frothy, light beige head. The nose has some lightly toasted brown bread, pine, orange, berries. Medium sweet flavor with nice toasty-roasty malt character, a bit of burnt pine, oily hops, ripe citrus. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly resinous to finish with subtle char, pine, orange rind. Solid.

Bottle at Leighton’s. It pours deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is fresh, piney, bitter-sweet, orange sherbet, roasted malts and caramel. The taste is bitter, roasted malts, chocolate, cocoa, zesty citrus, piney varnish, pepper and toast with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty solid black IPA.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus hops and moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and robustness of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and resinous sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent American pale ale style. All around great complexity of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, sticky, and lightly creamy mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. Bottle @ home, thanks to michcam8 for sending. Pours a touch hazy bright orange appearance with an off white head. Aroma is a little spicy and creamy with lots of passion fruit, grapefruit, and oranges. Medium body. A touch boozy. Flavors of candy, tropical fruit, spicy hops, and pineapple. Fine.

Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head. The aroma is citrus hop and pine. More hop forward than roast forward, nice smoothness compared to over bitter over roast from regular black ipas.

Many thanks to jsquire for this bottle! Great floral fruity nose with hints of dry malt. The beer starts fresh floral, great dry. Dark roasted malt, fresh citrus hops, pine, nice intense bitter. The aftertaste is intense-floral, fruity, nice roasted-smooth with a nice bitter aftertaste. Great brew!

Sample at Daily Growler Powell. Pours a clear dark orange color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, malt and yeast. Medium to full body with flavors of dark fruit, earthy yeast and grainy malt. The finish is slightly syrupy with a fruity yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle as "Fit For A King Imperial Oatmeal Stout". The beer pours brown-black with a medium khaki head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and slight hops. Medium to full body with flavors of roasted malt, dark chocolate and mild coffee. The finish is sweet with a chocolate malt aftertaste. Above average overall.
