Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a reddish amber with a tiny off-white head. Heavy caramel and herbal hops in the nose. Solid body, carbonation is a little low, heavy burned caramel and brown sugars with quite some spicy hops. Rather bitter finish. 161211

I picked this one up on a trip to Cleveland. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium amber color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left incredible lacing. The aroma was caramel with moderate floral and piney hops. The flavor was bitter with sour caramel and a rough mix of fruity, floral and piney hops. The finish was long, bitter, rough and hoppy. Medium body. Ok.

From a 12 oz bottle. Has a down to earth thick hop aroma that hangs like fog on a coolmorning. Cloudy with a slight haze almost like a hefe or witbeir in appearance. . Creamy head. Big strong nasty rude over the top flavor of pine tar and spuce oil makes me shake. Wewwwwww. They can leave this stuff over aqt the west coast IMHO. Soap in mouth nellie smashes my palate from top to bottom and down the gully. Terribly on style, probably should be a double ipa, resinous flow of nagging knashing stuff going on here pal. Interesting in that it does not trigger a gag reflex but cruelly persudes my brain to keep trying this viscous brew. Scary at times. I have no idea why this is not a 100 on this site. Lager lover? Forgettaboittit.

22 ounce bottle, no freshness date. Pours crystal clear red-orange color with a nice 2 fingers of dense khaki head with amazing retention that reduces to a fairly thick lacing cap that lasts. Some nice lacing clings to the sides of the glass as well. Aromas of caramel, toasted malt, orange, grapefruit, light pine, and biscuit. Some nice aromas, but they are a bit weak at first. They improve as the beer warms up. Taste of big caramel, toasted malt, biscuit, pine, orange, and spiciness. Nice amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toasted malt, biscuit, citrus, and pine on the finish for a bit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very nice creamy mouthfeel with smooth drinking. No alcohol noticed in the taste or finish. Great balance of flavor and bitterness; with the malts being a bit more prominent. Overall this is an excellent IPA/Amber ale. Delicious flavor and great balance.

Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 11/10/2011. The beer pours a clear dark amber color with a thin off-white head that dissipates to a film. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of cinnamon, malt and fruit. Medium body with a sweet spiced character of ginger and cinnamon, plus flavors of caramel malt and a touch of fruit. The finish is sweet molasses and ginger. Above average overall.

Dark with a off white head. Aroma was clean with lightly roasted malts, light molasses, chocolate. Flavor was much the same and the roasted malts were quite restrained but noticable still. Body was fuller than many schwarzbiers I’ve had, which makes sense, and a bit smoother. Sweet finish. Good beer.

A fair amount of lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, toasted malt, bread, and light citrus notes with some light spiciness. Some pretty faint aromas that have some good balance. They get a bit stronger as the beer warms. Taste of caramel, bread, toasted malt, light citrus, and spiciness. Fair amount of bitterness on the finish; with linger notes of caramel, bread, citrus, and spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and a light-medium body; with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Great drinkability as expected for 5%; with no alcohol noticed in the taste or finish. Nice balance of flavor and bitterness. Overall this is a pretty nice amber ale that is easy to drink and quite enjoyable.

Bomber from Belmont Party Supply shared at the 16th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 11/5/11. Pours very dark brown with a medium fizzy brown head. Fair head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, smoke and sweet malts. The taste is rich roasted malts, coffee, sweet malts and faint hops. Medium-full bodied. Nice.

Sample from growler courtesy of a traveling friend. The beer pours a clear copper-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of cinnamon and cloves as well as malt. Light to medium body with flavors of sweet spices, pumpkin and malt. The finish is sweet with a nutmeg and pumpkin aftertaste. Fairly straightforward but well-executed beer overall.
