From a bomber. A lttle darker than a pale lager. Smell is sweet bready yeast. Taste follows the aroma, quite malty. Though quite malty, with a little caroub, not really over the hedge. A little difficult on a long swig. A little medicine builds during the session. Finish is same. $4.99 for this bomber.

Bottle. Almost black, bright tan head. Aroma of moldy leather. Taste of bitter chocolate soda. An unfortunate choice as my last beer of the tasting.

From a trip to Cleveland. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a medium sized foamy orange-beige head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was very tangy with notes of sour caramel, pine, grapefruit, lemon and a touch of nut. The flavor was bitter and tangy with notes of caramel, pine, grapefruit and lemon and light notes of nut and bread. Medium length finish and medium body. Ok.

Bottle via a trade with bu11zeye. No bottled on date. Pours with a hazy deep bronze (dark for a india PALE ale) hued body with a minimal head retention. Aromas of toffee, orange, citrus, grapefruit, marmalade, sweet and bready. Possibly a bit oxidized. Flavors are sweet, malty, tea, caramel, bready, medium to strongly bitter. No bottled on date, but it doesn’t seem fresh (that said, I have no way of telling...hint). Low vibrancy, light orange zest, medium to low carbonation.
