Bottle (this beer is not served at Munich’s Oktoberfest !): Amber coloured, small off-white head, quickly vanishing; grainy, slightly malty nose with a nutty touch; faint, sweet malty start, mild bitter flavour, ending in a quite dry, bitter-malty finish with a metallic touch. Drinkable, but really not impressive !

Orange-gold beer; very dense, fine, creamy & cream-coloured head. Creamy, leafy & woodaroma’s, rainwater, yeasty - very fine and aromatic. Rather sweetish grain or white bread taste. Some sulphuric components, but faint, not really identifyable. Main taste remains sweet, with a faraway grain & earthy finish. Little or no hops discernible. Malts lend some body, even slightly creamy MF. Nowhere a bad beer, but compared to the Franconian samples of this style rather lame. Thanks joss! Retasting 27/3/07 Marked by an enormous malt presence, extremely fresh, and in the taste a very good balance with the MF. Might be upped another .2 points on total score (not changed).

Orange-amber, clear beer; yellowish tinted head, fast gone. Very subdued nose, some malt sugars. Water-sodden bread. Sweet-bready, and especially malty taste, finish being a bit drier, hinting at hops, slightly metallic. Strangely, exactly as in the just tasted Octoberfest (Sam Adams), I get a metallic MF, though not typical copper this time (and I’m NOT on antibiotics!). Medium bodied at best. Aftertaste returns to more sweetness. Not very exciting, really. Is this Heineken’s accountants’ doing, or just global superficialisation - or is that saying the same thing twice?

Bottle: Pale golden, thin lacing white head; shy sweet malts in the nose, a tinge of cardboard also, citrus from anywhere; mild bitter-sweet taste with a touch of lemon or so; mild bitter-aromatic aftertaste; quite a good bavarian Helles.

Bottle, St Albans Beer Festival 2005. Red/russet with beige head. Some good caramel, barley sugar aromas which carry on into the body of this beer. Quite drinkable. Bit too sweet but good spice/dry hop finish. Hop nose is quite subtle 3.4/5 malty oktoberfest beer. some nutty malt some white pepper fine

On draught live at the Oktoberfest: Pale golden coloured; not very long lasting white head; a mainly malt accented brew, little bitterness in the finish; soft and easy drinkable.........

Bottle: cloudy, orangey coloured, creamy mid-sized white head; slightly alcoholic nose, very shy traces of maltiness and yeast, too; slightly sweet fruity start, fizzy mouthfeel, very mild bitter flavour; ends slightly fruity and bitter; all in all a very discreet, refreshing brew. Not bad as an Ersatz-Weizen !

Bottle. Aroma has hint of banana. Cloudy caramel colour, small white head. Quite malty/diacetyl flavour. Some overripe banana. Quite flavourful for a wheat beer.

Bottle. Slightly farty aroma. Almost clear, golden colour. Small white head. Flavour is spicy, reminding me of Belgian yeast. Notes of clove. Slightly sweet. OK mouthfeel.

An orange beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also some perfumated notes mixes in. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel as well as some dusty hop notes, that gives it a dry slightly bitter end.
