Fläschla: Hazy, neither schwarz nor really dunkel, amber coloured, small and slowly collapsing white foamy layer, mild to moderate sweetish-bitter aroma of malt and herbal hops with a slight mineralic touch; mild to moderate - as well - bitter-sweetish flavour, nearly medium bodied, soft and a bit sticky; slightly lingering bitter-sweet finish with an increasing happiness in the aftertaste. Haberstumpf Trebgaster Zunft-Pils, Flasche von Keils Getränkemarkt, Bayreuth. - Goldgelb, klar. - In der Nase brotig-süßliches helles Malz und mild krautiger Hopfen, zart schwefelig. - Antrunk fein hellmalzig mit schlanker kräuteriger Herbe. Zarte Kandissüße reibt sich an mild trockener Herbe. Milder rezent, nicht so schlank wie ein Pilsner sein sollte aber doch leicht. Im Abgang immer noch süßlich, dazu milde Herbe mit Kräutern, Zitronenschale und Anflügen von Pfefferminz und Zahnkrem. - Ganz gewiß kein klassisches Pilsener, auch mit seiner ungewöhnlichen Kombination von feiner Malzsüße und leicht schräger aber frischer Hopfung doch angenehm zu trinken.

Bottled, from Hier Gibt's Bier. Hazy nut brown, small head. Caramelly nose with bread and hazelnuts. Mid dry with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Rye bread and hazelnuts. Fairly low bitterness.

500ml Bottle - Amber with a white head (not very dark but then not a stereotypical helles bock either). Dried apricot, sultanas and hints of marmalade in the aroma. Malty and moderately fruity taste with dried fruit, bread and some slightly herbal and citrussy notes. Slightly nutty finish.

Flasche (50 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. - Dunkles Goldbraun, schwach trüb. - Unauffällige Nase mit leicht medizinisch-krautigem Hopfen. - Antrunk satt toastmalzig aber nicht platt süß sondern hopfenwürzig mit krautig-erdiger Herbe. Ich schmecke Anklänge an Wald und Moos, die aber vielleicht nur von dem urigen Waldschrat auf dem Etikett evoziert werden, dazu süße, mild herbe Zitrusfrucht. Mild rezent, weich, wenig Bockbier-typische Schwere. Im Abgang herbe Mandarine und weiche erdige Krautigkeit. - Ungewöhnlich gehopftes, sehr originelles Bockbier; unbedingt probierenswert.

Bottle @ Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. Pours clear pale golden with a frothy white head. Crackers, straw and grass. Good malts. Tasty and soft. Pleasant!

Bottle from Hopfen and Malz, Berlin. Bright gold in colour, with a short-lived, white, head and slight carbonation. Aroma of hay and ripe apricot, with a touch of leafy hop. Flavour had sweetish fruits upfront, a hint of green herbs and nicely bitter finish. Very good.

"Haberstumpf Weißer August", Flasche von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin, 20.6.2015. - Dunkelorange, schön trüb. - In der Nase Hefe, Weizen und Gewürze, besonders Nelke. - Antrunk erfrischend hefig-weich und ganz zart säuerlich mit deutlicher Gewürznelke. Mild rezent. Im Abgang milde Herbe und Bitterorange. - Angenehmes, schön kerniges Hefeweizen, das ohne die übliche Bananigkeit auskommt und mehr auf würzige Aromen setzt. Paßt!
