At the Franken Fest in Rome-Italy, shared by mortlach. Grazie. Pours very cloudy yellow-golden, medium white foamy head. Terrific nose: this pleasant smell of chicken stable leading to a bready and yeasty (distinctive yeasty) nose. It even develops in the glass into some hoppy flavor. Mouth: sweet in a way but balanced, bready with a round bitter end. Lovely drink. Franconia on!

On tap @FrankenBierFest, la Limonaia di Villa Torlonia (Rome). Cloudy pale golden with a medium white head. Aroma is milk bread, crust, chicken stable, yeasts, malt, rough and powerful, wow! Flavour is medium sweet, bread, malt leading to a low bitter end. Low body, medium carbonation. Tasty and enjoyable: amazing!

Bottled. Lightly hazy golden, brief head. Minerally chalky nose with some grass. Dryish with light-medium body and clean, crisp mouthfeel. Unpleasantly chalky. Mid bitter finish.

Rated as Mai-Bock.
Interessanter,süßlich-würziger Geruch. Der Antrunk ist sehr süßlich-alkoholisch, bockbiertypisch. Im Hauptteil kommt noch ein würzig-malziges Aroma hinzu. Das Bier ist vollmundig und süffig. Es hat etwas von Lakritze oder Kräutertee. Der Nachgeschmack bleibt lange auf der Zunge, die süßlich-würzige Note hält sich schön konstant. Im letzten Teil des Nachgeschmacks kommt eine herbe Note hinzu, die sich aber gut in das Gesamtbild einfügt.
--> sehr würzig-interessantes Bockbier, für meinen Geschmack aber etwas zu süßlich-klebrig. Zu sehr nach Kräuterbonbon! Danke an kappeldav für das Bier!
