Draught @Brauerei-Gasthof Höhn (in the Biergarten as the only customer). Hazy medium amber colour, good frothy off-white head, half-way lasting, good lacing. Aroma malty, caramel, light citrus, yeast. Taste medium sweet and bitter, sourish touch, malty, toffee. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, caramel notes, light acidity remains till the end. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, quite nice and refreshing.

On tap at the brewpub. Leicht trübes orange goldenes Bier mit einer großen leicht beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch angenehm malzig, Getreide, etwas karamellig. Geschmack sehr malzig, Karamell, getreidig, mild hopfig, süffig.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy grainy yeasty aroma. Fruity malty spicy bitter yeasty grainy flavor. Has a fruity malty bitter grainy yeasty finish.

Draught @ Brewery july -14. Cloudy golden with a small egg white head. Grass and bread. A touch of smoke. Smooth with a dry bitter finish. Good! Re-rate december -17. Earhty , herbal and Slight musty. Not entirely clean. Hmmh.. power bitter finish. 3,0 this time..

Bottle from the brewery, opened about 2 weeks later. Amber-orange color, hazy, medium, fine head. Malty nose, Vienna and/or Munich malts, caramel, bread. A bit metallic. Malty flavor, caramel, peaches, minerals, almost nothing hopwise. This is obviously a very different beer from the one served on tap in the pub. It’s not bad, but just a boring Vienna lager, basically, while the tap version is wonderful and strangely unique. A huge disappointment.

Tap at the brewery. Dark apricot-orange color with a high, fine, pillowy head and tons of small bubbles. Doughy, biscuit nose, oranges and herbs. Lovely. Tart-sweet-bitter balance in the mouth, oranges, orange peel, peaches, apricots, grass, biscuits. Very rich and doughy, and in a completely good way. Prickly bitter finish. Oily, silky body. Wonderfully complex and delicious.

Vom Faß im Brauerei-Gasthof Höhn, Memmelsdorf. - Orangegelb, trüb; wenig Schaum. - Geruch leicht beißend mit „grünem“ Hopfen und viel Diacetyl. - Antrunk spritzig frisch, mild karamelsüß; etwas fruchtig-herber Hopfen, leicht „grün“ und etwas säuerlich. Gut rezent, etwas dünn im Mund. Im Abgang nicht allzu aromatischer, leicht stechend-scharfer Hopfen. - Trinkbar aber wahrlich kein Genuß, dafür ist es einfach zu unreif.
