Description
Lukes beer quest began after tasting a friends homebrew. Luke started home brewing in his kitchen in 2011, producing 200 pints at a time. As demand for his beers grew, much to the relief of his family he set up a small brewery in a barn near his home. Whilst his brewery is still small scale he is now able to produce 1,800 pints a week.
Note: Hay On Wye is in Wales, but the brewery is just across the border in England.

Can at Castle Café Hay on Wye, Wales, Tuesday 10th June 2025 in the company of Dad, Pauline, Isobel and Jude. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. A touch on the sweet side, soft in the mouth, fruity and juicy, hoppiness really pushes through, good.

Can at Castle Café Hay on Wye, Wales, Tuesday 10th June 2025 in the company of Dad, Pauline, Isobel and Jude. Pours hazy warm gold with a head that rapidly departed. Nice mouthfeel, spritzy, crisp and whilst a pleasant drop there are much better examples of the style even in the UK and UK brewed that I prefer.

Can from Hay Deli, Hay-On-Wye. Hazy golden colour. Easy texture causes its citrus to feel light in this brew, but it's stated enough in both aroma and taste providing tropical flavour.

Keg @ Lucky 7 Brewery, Hay-On-Wye, hazy very pale golden with a head. Citrus juicy, although a little weak tasting given its strength. Fruity enough though.

Can from Hay Deli, Hay-On-Wye. Cloudy yellow-gold with a thick bubbly head. Not the most stated of hefe styles, but the associated taste is evident, it's quite crisp too. Citrus, banana and a hint of spice here.

Can from Hay Deli, Hay-On-Wye. Brown coloured with a thin head. Quite a light tasting porter, but gets some backbone in its aftertaste. Aroma is fairly standard dark malty. The Bree has some sweetness.

Keg @ Old Black Lion, Hay-On-Wye. Paler golden with a thin head. It's carbonation excassebates the citrus tropical fruitiness in here, although its not too bitter. There's pine in both aroma and taste too.
