Description
In 1861 the 25-years old Heinrich Schneider decided to found a brewery on the “Grün’schen Hof” in Hachenburg. The Hachenburger brewery soon became the most important family brewery within the region. With business leader and co-owner Jens Geimer the family-owned company has reached the fifth generation and is still entirely independent.

Key to the success is that the beer is consistently cooled, the precious beer has achieved its special aroma over and over again for 150 years. What was true then is still true today: the long and cold ageing process is a fundamental requirement for a real Hachenburger as well as the use of high-grade raw materials. As well as the natural spring water from the Rothbach valley

330ml bottle. Clear, orange golden colour with small, frothy fading, white head. Rather weak, minimally starchy, pale malty aroma, hoppy overtones with a minimally floral touch. Taste is minimally sweet, slightly grainy, minimally starchy, pale malty, a touch of honey, floral honey, some hop bitterness as counterpart. Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, minimally dry, simultaneously minimally cloying palate, fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Rather weak, expressionless, at least fairly hopped - not that impressive.

Thanks Claudia. Smooth mild beginning. Grainy with a slightly sweetish grainy back. A bit sticky, grainy finish, not much bitterness.

0.3 litre on tap in Foersters Feine Bier on 13th October 2021. Clear, clean golden pour, white head. Pretty hoppy aroma and taste wise, dry and semi-bitter in nature. A decent Pils from a new brewery to me.

Westerwald-Bräu, Fläschchen von REWE, Herborn-Seelbach. - Helles Goldbraun, klar. (13.8.2021.)
