Description
At Hop City, we create beer that inspires the curious, and fuels the restless.

We embrace the journey as much as you do. We take risks, make wrong turns, and just go for it.

For us, it’s about believing in curiosity. Because even though it may have killed the cat, before he died, that cat probably had a pretty good time.

Canette 473ml.

New selection at my local beer store, from a bottle. Fairly smooth lager aroma bordering on old lager. Look is fairly pale lager. More personality compared to a pale lager. Has some fruitiness inthe background. A little slag on the palate and a good amount of co2. Goes down fairly easy but there is a little bit of mild bitterness building on the tongue during the session. Yes, personality continues to build as you drink. Finishes with a mild medicinal feel. Would like to try this on tap. I have tasted more mannered viennas.

Buckets, Jenkintown 12oz ($4.25): Pours an amber color with a small head. Aroma is faint caramel malt. Taste is faint anything. This was not any worse or better than the Yuengling I drank right before it.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright caramel-amber color with a large foamy orange-tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was skunky, tangy and somewhat sweet. The flavor was bitter and tangy with faint caramel, vague fruits and cardboard. Turns dry on the short cardboard finish. Medium body. Fairly awful.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 11/4/12

Aroma: The nose is fairly light, some toasted lager malts, and caramel notes
Appearance: This one pours a clear caramel orange color with some spotty lacing
Flavor: The taste is clean and malty, not overly sweet, and has barley a hint of a hop presence
Palate: The body is fairly light, it drinks clean, has an average carbonation, and a short duration
Overall Impression: My first rating from Hop City. (I didn't even realize I was buying Canadian, just assumed it was an American Micro I'd never heard of.) Anyway, it isn't a bad beer, but I wasn't super impressed either. Decent lager, but that's about it. Eh...

Can, from LCBO
Hazy amber color with generous head, creamy; is there a widget in the can? Mild aroma of caramel and caramel. Round mouthfeel, some caramel flavor; ordinary bitterness. Simple.

12 ounce bottle. Amber orange color topped by a fluffy light beige head. Mild toasted malt aroma. Dryish toasted malt flavor, rather suddued. Light citrus hops with a touch of peppery bitterness. Nicely balanced, but rather unassuming. Very drinkable, but not worth seeking out. Cool name, average beer.

Smells malty, caramel. Pours dark amber with decent head, even a little lacing. There’s a bit of hops here, though it doesn’t exactly exude the image of the name "Hop City." It’s alright for a sessionable beer though, but since it’s the same for a tall can of average Canadian beer as it is for Chimay, I’ll drink the Chimay. Tall can from Saving Gigi’s

Had this one a couple of times on tap at a local pub close to my work. Now, testing it from the can. Pours a clean deep amber colour with an off-white foamy head that does not last long, but leaves a bit of soapy lace. Malty scent with notes of caramel, nuts and hop. Pretty much the same for the taste with a mild nutty aftertaste. Wet mouthfeel as this is a beer to refresh people, but have a bit more taste than regular swills. Personally, I am not a fan of the hop they use in this one, but still a decent brew.
