Description
Established 1996 on the third generation family farm amidst the spectacular Mourne Mountain range in the north of Ireland, Whitewater Brewery still retains the passion and desire to brew beers with fantastic flavours.
We started with an 800 Litre brew size and currently we’re handcrafting 6500 Litre brews and bottling our 10 different beers on site. On 4th February 2016 we obtained Planning Permission to build a new brewery and after 20 years the next chapter begins. Our new brewery has the capacity to produce around 40,000 litres a month and has scope for further expansion.
We source spring water from the Mourne Mountains which is blended with American, Australian and New Zealand hops to create best-selling beers.
The company produces bottle-conditioned beers and ales and also supplies products in kegs to customers throughout Ireland. We’re expecting wild times ahead along with great beers….pick up a Whitewater and enjoy the journey.

Bottled, 0.5l. Clear amber color with small creamy brownish head and average visible carbonation. Aroma of caramel, spicy hops and some fruitiness, too. Taste starts with light caramel sweetness, beer is pretty well balanced, while aftertaste is long and hoppy. Full body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate.

Half a pint (3,8%) at McHugh’s in Belfast. Clear golden with a white head. Slightly fruity and hoppy aroma with malt and hints of caramel, spices and citrus. Lightly fruity and quite bitter. Long bitter aftertaste. More flavour and bitterness than expected and a good session beer. (2011-06-10)

550cl ath The Garrick Bar in Belfast. Pours deep copper with a light brown head. Aroma of dark dried fruits and some roasted malt. Sweet and lightly fruity with a metallic taste and some hoppy bitterness. Medium carbonation and quite light body. A bit strange, but drinkable. Not a beer I need to try again. (2011-06-10)

50cl bottle at Bittles Bar, Belfast. Pours dark brown with a huge beige head. Clearly overcarbonated and quite fizzy. Malty aroma with roasty notes and some dried fruits. I’m not sure if this is how it is supposed to be, smells and tastes a bit weird. Hints of basement and slighlty rotten fruit in the aroma. Not so pleasant. A bit fruity with a medium bitteness, but the fizziness of the beer is overwhelming. There is something here that reminds me of cheap slivovice, so I’m afrait the bottle was a bit off... (2011-06-09)

Pint from cask at the Crown Liquor Saloon, Belfast. Clear copper coloured with a creamy light brown head. Aroma of hops, malt and caramel with a hint of spices. Light to medium body, slightly watery. Surprisingly bitter and quite fruity, medium sweet. Bitter finish and aftertaste, quite nice, but a bit boring. (2011-06-09)
