Originally rated August 2009. Second cider of the night, found at the LCBO. Pours a rich golden colour, with a white fizzy head that disappears quickly (like most cider), leaving not much and nicely carbonated with small bubbles. The smell is mostly apples, with notes of whiskey in the background. Tastes sweet at first, then the apple juice comes to blend this and to disappear slowly where the apples are present in the aftertaste, and a touch of smoked wood comes out. Again, feels thick for the mouthfeel, but ends up crisp really quickly. Pretty decent cider, that is not shocking, not really dry, and has a really good aftertaste.

Bottled. A light yellow cider with a rim of white head. The aroma is dominated by apples. The flavor is very sweet with notes of apples - like apple juice more than a cider.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Lightly sticky and sugary nose with some alcohol. Medium body, fizzy with very, very sweet apple accents and a cardboardish edge. Hardly anything authentic about this one. 160110

Bottle from local off-license. White wine coloured, no head. Nose of sweet apple juice. Flavour of sweet and overripe apples, fruit candy. Sweet finish. Poorly done, even for a mass-produced cider.

Bottle: Deep yellow color a light bubbly head. This cider is lightly sweet and somewhat standard at the end of the day. I still wonder why Brits send us cider that they do not even distribute in their own country.
