Description
The brewery Fuglsang can rightly call itself Denmark's oldest family-owned brewery. Søren Christian Fuglsang founded the brewery in 1865, and today it is some of his great-grandchildren who, with respect for the craft and the raw materials, produce solid South Jutland beer.
The family also runs its own export malt factory, which is Denmark's largest and one of the few independents in Europe - it is the one that supplies a large part of the good malt to Fuglsang's beer.

Bottle, 5.5%. Good caramelly aroma, distinct American hops. Clear amber colour. Very small head. The flavour is nicely hoppy. Grassy and caramelly, reminding me of American beers, but slightly less interesting. Good, though. 7 3 7 3 16
Can, 5.5%. 5 years later. The aroma is not as inviting as I remember it, and there is not much aroma or flavour hop. The bitterness is still distinct and good, though. 7 3 7 3 13

Unfiltered from tap at YNWA, tap just said Fuglsang Bock, but clearly unfiltered. Pours hazy orange to yellow with a fully gone head. Sweet malt aroma. Flavour is sweet, light yeasty and quite fruity. Solid carbonation mouthfeel. Bubblegum light yeasty and more pronounced phenolic flavoured finish, growing bitterness coming through going quite solid dry.

Bottled (Beerangel, BB 06/2009). Deep red color, small beige head. Coffeish/toasted, grainy, caramel malty aroma. Weak palate. Some caramel, light toasted malts, coffee, metallic notes with foaming mouthfeel. Light licorice and caramel in the aftertaste. Cheap feeling.
