Description
The brewery Fuglsang can rightly call itself Denmark's oldest family-owned brewery. Søren Christian Fuglsang founded the brewery in 1865, and today it is some of his great-grandchildren who, with respect for the craft and the raw materials, produce solid South Jutland beer.

The family also runs its own export malt factory, which is Denmark's largest and one of the few independents in Europe - it is the one that supplies a large part of the good malt to Fuglsang's beer.

Bottled. An amber beer with a nice beige head. The aroma has notes of nuts, malt, caramel, and spicy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of toffee, malt, nuts, and spicy and grapefruity hops, leading to a bitter finish. Nice beer - and nice to have another American brewer helping the Danish beer scene along.

Bottle:Clear, amber coloured, stable off-white head; distinctive "american" hops in the nose, completed by roasted malt and brown bread; solid dry bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, quite soft; lingering dry hoppy finish, balanced by juicy dark malt. What a nice surprise ! A superb brew from a mediocre brewery.........
