Description
The brewery Fuglsang can rightly call itself Denmark's oldest family-owned brewery. Søren Christian Fuglsang founded the brewery in 1865, and today it is some of his great-grandchildren who, with respect for the craft and the raw materials, produce solid South Jutland beer.
The family also runs its own export malt factory, which is Denmark's largest and one of the few independents in Europe - it is the one that supplies a large part of the good malt to Fuglsang's beer.

Dark golden with a short lived white head. Aroma of malt and apples - and soap? Sweet flavour with some alcohol, followed by a sharp, bitter hops attack. 2.2
2011, unpasteurised on tap: Aroma of malt, fresh cereal and caramel with a touch of alcohol. Sweet malty flavour with alcohol and notes of apple peel.

Bottle. Clear, greyish brown colour. Small creamy head. Quite thin flavour, even though I trace a little malt. Not offensive in any way, but quite boring.

Bottle. This is the worst beer I have ever tasted!!!!!! But it looks good. It tastes of bad bread. Avoid it for goodness sake.

330 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. Clear amber colour with a reddish hue. Very good lasting head and lacing. Malty aroma with notes of toffee and plums. Malty flavour with some caramel but not really sweet, like cris_o says: "earthy". Wet cardboard notes in a slightly sourish finish. Drinkable, but certainly no masterpiece.
Earlier Rating: 8/20/2005 Total Score: 2.4
330 ml bottle, at Højer Sluse. Amber colour, good head. Moderate malty aroma. Sourish malty flavour with a dusty / metallic hops finish. Not a great beer this one.
