Tap at Beergeek Bar. Quite clear coppery-amber body, thick off-white head. Medium to light pleasant smokey touch mixing perfectly with some herbal, citric notes. Fun how no smoked malt was allegedly used. Those lovely soft herbal-citric notes persist, hitting a slightly bacony malty presence. Somehow not fully crisp, somehow still tasty. Nice little bitterish touch. A well made, tasty beer. It IS Schlenkerla after all.

Bottle from the brewery’s Webshop. Golden with a huge white head. Hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, good malty base with quite some punchy hops tuning in, some hints of horse blanket , pleasantly bitter and hoppy.

500 ml bottle from Schlenkerla webshop, bb 12/2022. Amber body, moderate hazy with a big, foamy, lacing, off-white head. Aroma of bread, grass, flowers, some citrus, moderate smoke. Tastes very lovely, quite similar, while a bit smokier and also hoppier. Medium, cream mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes perfect, medium bitter, spicy, hoppy, smokey, floral, grassy, bready, a bit citric. So tasty! The character reminds me of the unfiltered Helles, but with the hops and malt body increased. The smoke is quite in the background, while leading to even more depth and character. Extremely quaffable stuff! Score: 8 / 4 / 9 / 5 / 17

Bottle from the brewery. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass with a nice head. Shy smokey notes. Starts mild, malty, more and more smokey notes, not too intense. Grasy-malty background. Mild sweetness. Finish well balanced. Nice one!

Amber colour with lasting head. Lovely deep malt flavour. Generously smoked but not overpowering. Smooth. Easy to drink.
