Pours a copper from a bottle with a pillowy head, lots of lacing. Citrusy aroma, very light biscuit flavor with a bit of pine and citrus. Very watery and medicinally bitter. Meh.

Bottle from Trader Joe’s in Davis, CA. Pours copper with a beige head. Aroma is moderate resin. Some slightly roasty malt beneath. Med body. Flavor is resin/fruit - might be some citrus. It’s just a bit malty, but reasonably dry and nicely bitter. Somewhat old school IPA.

12oz bottle into a Corsendonk tulip on 4th June 2016 while on holiday in California. Pleasant golden amber body, weak, thinning white head. Unassuming blend with not a lot going on to be honest, lightly hopped and light malts gave subtle or poor aromas and flavours:depending on your leanings.

22 ounce bottle. I couldn’t find a date of any kind.
Pours a 24 karat gold with a substantial head of foam that shrinks to aboot a quarter inch. Some nice lacing.
I get caramel malt, fruity hops, some booze in the smell.
Caramel malt and fruity tastes up front, mild bitterness mid palate, sweetish finish along with some alcohol and alcohol burning.
Medium body and carbonation.
A bit of a different bird here. I enjoyed the bottle and may pick up another. --- Beer merged from original tick of Eye of the Hawk on 31 May 2016 at 16:50 - Score: 8. Original review text: Interesting hop profile. Interesting malt profile. Great looking brew. Smells more malty than hoppy. Lots of caramel.

12oz bottle into a Corsendonk tulip on 25th May 2016, while on holiday in California. Very dark brown, OK, it’s black, the head a thin wisp and collar. Oats and barley malts rule the nose and taste giving a smooth chocolate and coffee type flavours to the deep body feel. Easy to drink and a very pleasant Oatmeal Stout all round.

12oz bottle from Beer52.com. A pale amber pour with a thin cream head; subdued tropical fruit aroma; but a big fruity taste in the mouth with a touch of pine resin giving some dryness; unfortunately the finish is rather disappointing in comparison with some zingy fruit, but a rather dull herbal bitterness. Certainly a beer to wake up the taste buds, but not one I’s stick with for a session.
