Description
The Czech master brewer František Bedřich Janáček (1845-1925) started to build the brewery in 1894 and it was completed in 1895. Between the two world wars the Janáček Brewery in Uherský Brod belonged among the most modern breweries in Central Europe. The brew-master Jaromír Janáček managed and maintained the family brewery until its nationalisation in 1948. A vast reconstruction of the whole brewery was completed in 1993. The Uherský Brod Brewery belongs to Pivovary Lobkowicz.

Clear golden with medium off white head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel notes. Somewhat smoky flavour with grainy and malty notes.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr/KimJohansen. Hazy yellow with floating impurities and a tall, dense and lively off-white head. Lightly tart aroma with some yeastiness. Medium body, malty and flowery with a light tartness and a whiff of yeast. Dry, lightly bitter and sulphurous finish. 141208

50 cL bottle. Pours light hazy yellow to orange with a small yeast sediments and a slowly collapsing white head. dry malty and hoppy aroma. Vague yeasty flavoured with a dry bitterness swept through. Lingering acidic and bitter finish, very minor yeasty bubblegum note.

bottle from Galerie Piva, Praha. Clear bronw colour, medium-sized head. Aroma of beer and cola. The flavour ist quite beery, not very sweet at all. The cola flavours are blended into the background. Slightly bitter finish.

Bottled(330ml). -Golden coloured, minimal white head, spicy herbs with touch of berries and ginger in the nose. This tastes like cough syrup with prevailing rosemary or something similar. Neither I neither my girlfriend likes it.

Cloudy golden with large white head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel and mild butter notes. Sweet flavor with fruity notes andvhints of hops. Ends bitter.

(6/27/08) Draught at Vinarna Hrozen in Plzen. Hazy deep golden with a medium stable white head. Aroma of yeast, some diacetyl and light hoppiness. Sweetish flavor with some yeastiness and a rather grassy bitter finish. Medium-bodied.
