Description
The Czech master brewer František Bedřich Janáček (1845-1925) started to build the brewery in 1894 and it was completed in 1895. Between the two world wars the Janáček Brewery in Uherský Brod belonged among the most modern breweries in Central Europe. The brew-master Jaromír Janáček managed and maintained the family brewery until its nationalisation in 1948. A vast reconstruction of the whole brewery was completed in 1993. The Uherský Brod Brewery belongs to Pivovary Lobkowicz.

Bottle:Very dark amber coloured, big and stable fluffy beige head, quite pleasant dark-malty and toasted-malty nose with a tinge of mlasses and coffee, relativly dry bitter-sweet flavour, light - that is understood - bodied, increasing dryness in the malty-bitter finish. Reasonable light Dunkel.............

Bottle, 4.0% as Janáček Značka Pohody Tmavé. Mild bready aroma with a little hvidtøl note. Very dark brown colour. Big stable tan head. Subtle bready flavour. Mild sweetness, hint of hvidtøl, but of course not as sweet. Mild, but with some flavour and well-balanced.
