Description
The Czech master brewer František Bedřich Janáček (1845-1925) started to build the brewery in 1894 and it was completed in 1895. Between the two world wars the Janáček Brewery in Uherský Brod belonged among the most modern breweries in Central Europe. The brew-master Jaromír Janáček managed and maintained the family brewery until its nationalisation in 1948. A vast reconstruction of the whole brewery was completed in 1993. The Uherský Brod Brewery belongs to Pivovary Lobkowicz.

Hazy golden with a small white head. Grainy malt aroma with a grassy touch and some DMS. Dry and malty flavour with DMS, grassy hops and a nice bitter finish

Tap @ Zly Casy, Prague. Pours hazy golden with a creamy head. Spicy hoppy nose. A bit of hay and grass. Some sulphur. Herbal and dry finish. Smooth.

On tap, Pivo sörvendéglő, Budapest. Dark thick body, with medium white head. Sweet, pleasent taste, easily drinkable.

Tap. Dark brown to red colour. Heavy stable creamy head. Aroma of coffee, caramel, roasted. Taste medium bitter, light sweet, finish dry bitter.

06/06 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Marko, thanks for sharing! It poured golden body with tiny head. Weaker pale malt aroma. Slightly bitter flavor, had some fine bready notes, along with herbal hops, but it’s very watery. Short, almost bland finish. As commercial states, really light for sure. Didn’t ring my bells as well.

Bottled 500ml. -Pale golden coloured, medium sized airy white head, mild bready nose. Malty, bready and slight buttery with light grainy notes. Rather bitter finish. Not so watery for 3.7%.

Bottle from the 2nd Pivkan in Zagreb, huge thanks to Sara for bringing it to me as I was sick at the time :) Poured a pale golden body with almost no head (wha?). Very light malty nose. Ashy bitter taste, watery, slightly creamy. Ho-hum. A low strength bitterish lager, what’s to expect.

Bottle 0,5l. Light hops and malty aroma. Golden color with white head. Bitter sweet taste, refreshing. Good beer in warm weather, nothing else.
