Description
Legend Brewing Company is a commercial microbrewery providing true premium beers to many of the best pubs and restaurants in Richmond and other areas of Virginia since January, 1994. Our mission is to bring to our customers the finest and freshest brews as flavorful alternatives to mass-marketed mainstream products. We're one of the few craft breweries in this region producing both lagers and ales, which require different yeasts and maturation conditions. All Legend beers are unpasteurized and made from only two-row and specialty barley malt, hops, water and yeast.

Clear, pure golden coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan head with a nice microfoamed, velvety top. Aroma of grass, citrus, grapefruit, resin, flowers and a good deal of malt with a bitter aroma with some alcohol and cleanser noticeable. Medium-bodied; Deep lightly astringent and medicinal bite with some alcohol and pungent grapefruit and citrusey flavours that showcase the alpha acids and hops with a deep malt presence that balances things out nicely and shows some orange, grapefruit and even lemon citrusey flavours on the edge with a faint bit of sweetness, too. Aftertaste is deep, relatively balanced, with a large presence of alcohol, resin, cleanser and bitter hops, but there is some citrus sweetness at the very end. Overall, a nice and deep 'true' East Coast Imperial IPA without much gimmicks - this is bitter, balanced and strong...a nice option from Virginia! Great to try, relatively fresh - Happy Anniversary to a Richmond 'Legend' (horrible pun)...Cheers! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Newport News, Virginia on 17-November-2019 for U$3,14 sampled at home in Washington on 17-March-2020.

Late vintage 2007. Bottle from dkachur, thanks, Dan! Reddish brown color. Vinous aroma with grape juice, banana, plastic and rubber. Full bodied. Sweet, malty flavor with rubber, banana, grapes, apricot. A bit like cheap plum brandy. Flowery and citric hopbitterness reveal themselves in the aftertaste. Could be better, although the complexity is there.
