Bottle, thanks Fin! Chestnut, golden brown head. Berry aromatics, dough, light metallic roast, chocolate. Medium full body, chewy, spritzy. Kirschtorten base, juicy malt, berries, honey, pleasant roast, finishing on flowery hop aromatics, very nice!

Bottle picked up from a random Getrankemarkt in Straubing and consumed at home Sunday 16th March 2025 after a short walk to Gasthof zum Sonnewald which was closed. Pours gold with a large white head, a little maltiness from the off, clean, refreshing and crisp. Fruity, and decent Hell but the dunkel from these guys is still far and away the best.

Bottle picked up from a random Getrankemarkt in Straubing and consumed at home Friday 14th March 2025 preparing Spinal, Ricotta and Pine Nut Cannelloni whilst listening to Squid - Coward and now Bob Mould - Here We Go Crazy. Pours mid gold, good clarity, large white head, however the head was short lasting just a thin rim and touch of film on the top now. A touch sweet from the off, nice soft mouthfeel, however actually thinking this could do with a bit more carbonation. There is a little light honey sweetness, a bit of bread. Yes it's another decent beer from Klett Bräu however would be better if the carbonation was lifted.

Bottle picked up from a random Getrankemarkt in Straubing and consumed on the train to München Wednesday 12th March 2025 listening to ByteFM. I cannot be certain on the colour as I am drinking straight from the bottle. Very soft mouthfeel, light caramel runs through, some sweetness touch of nuttiness and there is a slight floral edge coming from somewhere. It's very nice, better than the Bock I had a couple or so days ago.

Bottle picked up from a random Getränkemarkt in Straubing and consumed at home Sunday 9th March 2025 listening to Heartworms - Glutton for Punishment. We’ve got homemade Chimichanga with Thomasina Miers Chilli. Pours deep brown, bubbly but the head rapidly departs, malty, caramel, a little dusty hop, some liquorice. Nice mouthfeel, very soft. Actually on reflection the liquorice is quite prominent.

500 ml tap at Gäubodenfest, Straubing. Clear light golden, creamy head. Buttery, grassy, doughy, citrusy, bready. Dry hoppy bitterness, grainy sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry zesty bitter finish. Quite a nice crisp refreshing Festbier, almost like a Helles, but in a good way!

Dry hoppy citrusy bitterness, roasty malty sweetness. Full to medium bodied, oily texture, soft to lively carbonated, dry zesty roasty malty bittersweet finish. A great Dunkles!
