ABV: 4.5%. Clear medium to dark red amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, spicy, cinnamon - cloves - nutmeg. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, caramel, sweet malt, spicy, cinnamon - cloves - nutmeg. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20200121]

Thin spotty head left a cover on a near black still body. Coal, burnt & roasted aroma. Medium bodied, smooth on the palate with a clean back. Malt, smoke, tobacco, roasted, nutty & berry tastes. Nice one.

Keg at the Beavertown Extravaganza, day two, 09/09/2017. a jet black coloured pour with a fine tan whisp. Aroma is woody roast, cherry, some brown sugars. Flavour isc omposed of mellow sweet, roast, chcoolate, bourbon warmth, spicy wood in the finish. Lot of stuff going on. Palate is medium bodied, woody tannin, frothy carbonation.

Third by cask, on the second day of GBBF Winter 2020, Sonnet Bar. Shared with Finn. Off-white head, near-black in the glass, spotty lacing. Roasted aromas, mid-sweet, moderate. Mid-sweet liquorice flavours. Roasted malty finish. Fair enough. (Birmingham 05.02.2020).

Stout with a thin head, a bit of hop in the smell. More bitter hop than I'd expect from an oatmeal stout but there's still a smoothness there along with coffee and dark chocolate and a lasting toasty finish.

Keg @ Alexandra Beer House, Halifax. Red with a small glow and a small head. It's a lightly soured red berry flavoured ale. It's easy enough but quite sweet for a sour style!

Third, cask ale at Head of Steam. Shared with Finn. Patchy white head, cloudy golden body, dotted spots on the glass. Dough fruity aromas. Hop fruity flavours, moments of peaches and lemon. A piney note to the ending. Fair enough. (Birmingham 03.02.2020).

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 29th February 2020. Orangey reddish brown with loose off-white foam and full lacing. Biscuit and caramel malt aroma. Malty and bitter simultaneously in-mouth and a finish of smooth maltiness and intense grassy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel and medium body.
