Description
Defying the odds isn’t just what we do, it’s a part of our DNA. We were founded by a woman in 1867. Lived through two wars. Survived a fire. Overcame the Halifax Explosion. Competed as an independent company against breweries 100 times our size. We haven’t just survived - we’ve thrived. And while others back down, we outlast. Moosehead Breweries Limited is the last major brewery in Canada still owned by Canadians. The brewery is located in Saint John, New Brunswick and operates with values that have been safely guarded by the same family for 148 years. Despite obstacles – devastating fires, Prohibition, the Great Depression, two world wars, obstructive trade barriers, and bruising competition from breweries 100 times its size – Moosehead is one of the most durable and long lasting companies in Canada. Ultimately it has been the Oland family’s passion for beer that has enabled them to be successful over the long term. With their product on beer shelves from the Maritimes to B.C., and its flagship Moosehead Lager shipped to approximately 350 distributors in the U.S.; Moosehead has become an iconic mainstay in North America’s beer industry

Bottle at Draft House Tower Bridge. Pale gold thin white collar of bubbles. Vague pale malt aroma with touch of limee and lemon. That is a light tasting beer. Bit of stale cardboard on the finish. Not terrible but then there isnt much to go wrong

Canette 473ml.

Sampled from a 12 oz green bottle this beer poured a pale golden color with a medium sized soapy white head that left some lacing. The aroma was very reminiscent of Fruity Pebbles cereal. The flavor was tart and tangy with an artificial lemon presence. Dry finish was lingering lemon. Light body. Not good.

Looksmlike perry in the glass, not green tinted at all. Lime olfactory seems to be covering an otherwise slight veggie aroma, I thinkl the lime even makes the cabbage aroma bolder. Very light and citrusy limey flavor. Quite sizzly. Dull lime finish. Not bad overall, somewhat acceptable for a typical fruit beer. Grows on you, could be sessionable.

Bottle. Sweet barley malt and hay aroma. Golden yellow color with moderate head and effervescence. Honey barley malt and mild herbal hops flavor. Not horrible - a better choice than the lager.

341 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 5%. Crystal clear pale yellow colour, large white head. Boring aroma, like an industrial pale lager: a little "dusty" malts, boiled vegetables and a weak hint of grassy hop. The flavour is much like a "premium" industrial lager, with some fruity and malty notes, and very modest hops in the finish. Not undrinkable, but pretty far from anything a decent brewery with some self respect would call a "pale ale".
